Hi Steemians.
Steem prices are fighting upwards with strong force and yesterday i stop my account from powering down. I want to share the idea why i did this and why everyone should do this as well.
I have find hundreds of minnows doing continue power down week after week and i also did this but recently i have discovered after price boost that It should be stopped or else i will ruin my account and will not be a valuable member of steem network anymore.
The story begin when i first started powering down when steem and SBD prices were almost equal and close to 1$.
i use this simple formula to calculate post reward before payout.
Using this formula almost one month ago if we have a 10$ post reward then we get 3.75 SBD and 3.75 SteemPower.
But now today if we have 10$ post rewards we get 3.75 SBD and 0.625 SteemPower.
It means that powering Up is now 6 times harder then it was a month ago.
If you don't want to always remain a minnow then stop powering down.
My goal is to become a dolphin this year for which i need 4700 SP more. if i don't power up and rely on the same above formula and Steem price stay at 6$ then i need to have almost 75200$ post reward in order to become a dolphin which is 6x more then the last months calculation Things changes so fast so always be ready to take a positive step on time.
In short i want to spread the message to all steemians to stop powering down and enjoy their post reward in form of SBD only. Become stronger and let the network be more stronger. All of us are earlier steem users and we are simply Awesome.

thanks for this information. this means that more the price of steem goes up, harder it is to go to higher levels. Also, where can I find more details on the different levels and how much SteemPower is needed to reach there?
Yes if you want to survive for long term then powering down is destruction.
Minnow is someone with a vote of 0.01 atleast.
Dolphin has atleast 5000 SP, Almost 5% of dolphins are on the network now.
And Whale is someone with more then 50,000 SteemPower.
