OPTISTEEM: optimise your content creation/curation!

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone, this morning I was serenely walking around my house under the usual doomed white sky of London, and I had a couple of ideas to create a tool to help all of us utilising STEEM better.

Straight after lunch, I started mocking up those ideas, and I'm about to present them, elaborated, to you all.

This post is essential to understand if there is a need, other than mine, to build this solution. I look forward to receiving plenty of comments.

In a nutshell, OPTISTEEM will allow users to:

  • discover new content
  • understand which post worked and what didn't
  • schedule posts
  • maximise your author/curator payout

The mockups I created cover only a couple of features.

SECTION 1: DASHBOARD

After logging in with your STEEM account, you will be landing in the DASHBOARD section. Here, at a glance, you'll be able to see your current wallet, pending payouts, the current STEEM and SBD market value and your trending posts.

The CHANGE box is one of the features that I miss the most in my daily routine inside steemit/busy.

It's a feature for those who are interested in trading, of course. You type the amount of owned STEEM or SBD, and you have an on-the-fly preview of the change, after selecting the target currency you press CHANGE NOW, and a new tab will bring you over blocktrade.us with all the fields pre-filled.

SECTION 2: DISCOVER

Discover new content is a common problem, also knowing that the curator reward is weighted on this novelty aspect as well. In this section, users can pick five tags and filter the content within ranges(min, max).

In the example above, we are looking for those posts tagged with utopian-io, slothicorn, blockchain, dtube and blog that have a lifespan of max 12hr, with a current potential payout that goes from $0.003 to $1.5, with 2 to 10 upvotes and only 1 to 3 comments.

The results of this filtering can be upvoted, commented and resteemed.

SECTION 3 & 4: INTELLIGENCE & SCHEDULE

The other two sections that I would love to have in OPTISTEEM are pretty interesting, but I haven't made a mockup yet.

The INTELLIGENCE section will break down your posts to understand what worked and what didn't work at what time and under which tags. Ideally, it will "learn" with enough data giving you insights on how to become a more optimised content creator.

The SCHEDULE section will use data gathered in INTELLIGENCE and will allow users to schedule posts releases.

WHAT'S NEXT?

As previously mentioned, this post is a proof of concept that needs validation. Usually, I like building or mocking up solutions and MVPs and if there is an actual market need I'm more than happy to spend more resources on it and make it become a reality.

So, your comments, critiques and suggestions will let me decide if it's worth investing in this project or not.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you, all!

Thank you,
Alberto

Certainly looks interesting and useful!

I believe it will make life a lot easier for us newbies. I find it a bit of hardwork finding the right posts to curate. This is in my opinion a step in the right direction.

cool, thanks!

Hi Alberto,

This is definitely interesting.

Not too long ago, I found a tool called Steemtracked that was pretty awesome. It showed - among other thigns - on what days and times your posts were most successful. Payout per day month, etc and all kind of cool valuable stats. But, it recently seems to have stopped working. Something that I see happening with a lot of tools here on the blockspace.

Ciao,

Vincent

I’ll check it out! Such a pity it stopped though...this post didn’t have enough success so I think it’s not really worth it spending time on it! Idea validation let’s you always save time!

I see your point. Then again, sometimes it's just a matter of reaching the right people. If you'd really be passionate about this, I'm sure you would continue doing it no matter what ;>)

See you on the filmmaking discord :>)
