Comparison of pc and consoles

I must say that I expected this generation of consoles to finally be something powerful, innovative and impressive in order to push the industry and game creators forward. However, I am very disappointed by what both Microsoft and Sony have come up with.

Games on the consoles often run at 792-900p resolution and other times at 1080. Very few of them are able to provide a stable 60fps (on the Xbox One they often can't even maintain a stable 30fps).

Many of the transitional titles have been downgraded in terms of visual fidelity in order to get to the 1080p-60fps point and have still failed to deliver - and that is at the beginning of this console generation. They are already not capable of keeping up with the games' requirements. I dare not think what it will be like if Microsoft and Sony plan on keeping this generation of consoles as long as the previous one.

The PC has almost all of the games now available on Xbox One and PS4. In many cases, the PC will perform and look better than either of these consoles.
The games that you can get on the PC will cost less than on the consoles. Steam offers sales on games all of the time making it more cost effective in the long run.

But there is just one thing the initial cost of a PC can be higher than a console. However, you really don't need a massively overpowered PC to play games. A $500 machine will get you started. Ensure you focus on quality and speed the graphics card.

Gaming services on the PC offer more functionality than what you pay for on a console
PCs have better better multiplayer support (LAN, 16x local multiplayer on the same machine with softXpand).

Using a modern budget GPU yields around 60 frames per second during gameplay with recent game releases. Consoles can barely reach 30FPS most of the time.
Not only can PC's be used for education, entertainment, gaming, and content creation... they're the best at all of these things.
