I don't know who is @pumpkin.
But if one of us (you or me) decide to be part of this chain and spend time here, that also means you and me both are agreeing to the terms of DPOS. Unfortunately in DPOS anyone with high stake/money is the undisputed-king. If we look at PoW anyone with money can buy all the hardware in the world even pull off a 51% attack. So, this scenario is not very different from even the PoW chains.
That being said, DPoS based governance may need revisions. What is happening now will definitely a good case study!
