I had a busy SteemIt day and I'm just getting around to making a post... A few things I wanted to put out there for the sake of interest and transparency.
A Family That Steems Together:
My husband who has never done social media in his life decided to join a few days ago, and I've been helping him with his account. @roundhere. I think he has heard so much talk about SteemIt that he wanted to check it out. He started trading in the Forex world and became interested in Crypto after I found SteemIt. I kept telling him SteemIt is a great resource for trading and reading about all Crypto Projects. He finally listened. :)

Each time I have brought a friend or family member on board I remember how difficult this process is for minnows. It is fine they have to find a way to get attention and standout, but there are also many things to learn combined with the difficulty finding people to connect with my desire to support quality minnows has only increased. Note the key word "Quality".
Adopt a Minnow Project
The adoptaminnow concept has received a lot of interest and support and has it's own tag #adoptaminnow, I also created a new account to promote the project @adoptaminnow and will be be speaking with @brandyb about expanding the project and taking it to the next level. Follow the account to watch for updates this week. I have to give brandyb a huge amount of credit as she is young, exciting, fun and has really done a great job of promoting it on her end. I believe she is a huge asset to the community! I will be adopting a new minnow this week, but I think I found a keeper in a friend, partner and promoter with @brandyb regarding the project.

Shout Out to Blocktrades
To create both new accounts @roundhere and @adoptaminnow, I used @blocktrades to create an account and add some Steem, it was easy and on the second account my browser freaked out and created an issue. Finally, I have to take a moment and be excited about the price of SBDs. I feel bad that our Peg doesn't keep the price down, but the high price of SBDs has been an influx of financial gains for everyone who is actively using the site and for that I am excited. I see many accounts taking this opportunity to power up and improve their accounts! Nobody puts SBDs in the corner.

Last year, I softly coerced my wife to come to Steemfest in Lisboa, then after that, we made accounts for all our kids + 1 family account (@allinthefamily). Not all of us are as active as I'd hoped, but it's a work in progress and I think our eldest daughter @mirthe would make the perfect candidate for your adopt a minnow project - she dropped a vid on dTube this weekend :)

I will head over and give your significant other a look and a take after. SBDs have been fascinating. I ask why the peg isn't working. I likewise think about whether the peg is holding it down, similar to it would be higher without it, or if the peg lost control and has no effect on the cost any longer. Additionally, happy to have your better half finished to crypto from forex.
I'm excited about a lot of things......the price of steem and the price of SBD both being among them.
I have followed your husband now and I'm actually surprised that he wasn't already on here. I speculated about who he might be a couple of times but it looks like I was wrong.

Wow you brought your husband! yeah bringing a family member is not an easy task! As a dolphin helping them with our poor vote power is another hard task :D Anyway I like what you did and I think my wife will consider about joining here too!
I think I need to adopt a minnow too! I like this concept, but I want to improve my vote power to make him/her happy! Without financial rewards on their articles ( if good one), I think it's a chaos to adopt someone! So I will wait few more weeks to prepare myself!

The peg works to hold the price up, but if my understanding is correct there is not a mechanism to lower the price of SBDs after they pump.
Hmm I thought they changed something as witnesses when it went up to 1.27 a long time ago, back when it bounced between 80 cents and 1.10 often, but what your saying makes more sense. I need to learn more about this pegging concept I guess, it intrigues me and I know sovereign hero was supposed to be a pegged asset, bitgold and bitsilver etc. I wonder how it keeps it at the market price, or how it's supposed to

Don't feel bad that the dollar peg isn't working for SBDs. I think it's actually refreshing - the free market supply and demand pressures have overridden the both presumptive and self-limiting characterization of SBDs as being locked to the value of one US dollar. Demand has likely grown due to the fact that they are going to be correlated to the creation of SMTs, per the SMT White Paper: "Initially smt_creation_fee will be set to 1 SBD & no means will be provided to update it."

that's an awesome news...ur husband must be feeling great and the person who is a forex trader will find crypto trading much more easier and I can bet on it. Crypto trading is safer than forex also, in terms of risk.
