RE: Reducing friction for critical mass adoption of steemit

in #steem9 years ago

Proposal

Create a webpage that allows you to seemlessly create a steemit account
and link it with an existing reddit account. This could be as easy
as a single button that

  • shows the account owner a brain key that can be used to gain access to
    his steem account
  • creates a new account in STEEM with a second posting key owned by us

If a (reddit-) user already has a steem account we could just add a
button to steemit that let's them 'connect' their accounts with
steemit.com.

The Bot

The bot connects with the users profile and, since we have the users
agreement, copies over his posts to steem.

The bot could easily be run in a cronjob or async job that reads reddit
or any other service and posts the user's content from the users
account
using its own key. We would use posting authorities with two
distinct keys. That meams that the service has no access to user's
funds
and merely can post content in his name.

Funding

Having the posting authority of a new user could be used to upvote an
announcement thread using the user's key. That way, steem could help
fund this project.

Issues to solve:

  • How to fund the initial accounts and prefund them so that they can
post stuff? Maybe @steemit could help out
  • Depending on the platform, it may not be legal to copy over users
content to steem without the service's agreement. This needs to be
    figured out first.

How do I obtain service Agreement? Inbox please. Thanks
