I know that I am new here, but should BOTs be legal? I see lots of trending posts and when I look at them, they all are buying lots of bot's to up vote them, and resteem them.
Maybe I'm naive but, is this buying votes not a PAY FOR PLAY buy. How is this a fair way for real steemer's to build there blogs? This way seems like we have a mafia style payment system? Pay or no one will see your post on trending?
We all lose this way. How? Well, now everyone is happy to pay for votes. But what power we are giving such a few people to control the mass amount of posts that people see. Is this not why most of us left youtube. Free from all the controls of Google? It looks like we just moved into a new form of filter system. Yes they help. But what is the cost?
I can image many will say they like it because they where here first and it has built them their base. But is this the community that we want to build? Well I have an idea to give to the steemit hierarchy. So maybe the will of the people could be heard. Why not make a trending spot with no bots allowed. This way people can see everything without the help of the little helpers. Who may one day with thier power down vote someone just for shinning light on a problem. Help me understand why I am wrong. Let me know what you think below?
Thanks for reading my post and please consider #upvoting this post, #following me, and leaving a #comment. If you would like to help me even more please consider re–steeming me so I am able to reach your audience as well. I look forward to posting daily content with all of you. Till then, Thank you.
I don't like the use of bots either. It irks me too. I think it irks a lot of people on here. The thing is, people are always going to come at things from different angles. There's always going to be those seeking profit and power. What I'm noticing, though, is that people on here find their niche. You might not be among the most trending, but you'll hopefully find your niche with people who will support you. I hope that happens for you. I think you're going about it in a smart way and you definitely have good content to share. I'd say keep a good attitude and just ignore that stuff. That's what I'm trying to do. I've made some really neat connections on here and read some really great posts that deserved way more than they got, but that's just how it seems to be. Still worth it, though, imo. Just depends on what you care about and what you're after. That's different for everybody.
All the best!Thanks @instpekt
Thanks, same to you. I've checked out your blog. You give some helpful info. I need to learn about crypto. I'm so new to all this.
Ask me any question on any of my posts and I'll answer them the best that I can. I also resteem those that I think are good and not reinvent the wheel.
Check out the posts about how to grow and what to avoid here on steemit.
I am here to help and encourage - I think that you are an encourager as well.
All the best!
Also, we all have a say to buck the trend - I read the new posts - albeit by understanding the rules of voting and rewards.
Today is only day 11 and I have already learned a lot by not limiting or focusing on what is trending.
As the saying goes: It is what it is. and also, if you cannot beat them, join them (or leave them).
I have purchased Steem before I joined here and I transferred them here to Power Up. I have purchased more and will continue to do so and then Power Up some more.
There is a group: Make A Whale that I want to join - it requires 500+ SP and reputation of 70 and above. That is my goal here.
Anyways, Nice reading. Do what is in your control and ignore the rest.
All the best!@zeitlini - I agree with you! Mostly! However, life is not fair - and never will. Even with the bots, this platform is still far better than the other mediums.
@freedomshift # Thank you for you well thought out advice. I agree with you about the world is not fair. And that we have to work with the stystem, but why not have a choice to list your posts without bot's unfair advantage. A clean slate for new steenian's to put their posts only against others who choose not to use bots. Giving control to others is a dangerous state. IMO. Thanks again.
Anyone or anything that can protect you or me from anyone or anything else could also be used against us and oppress us - that is the price of freedom - the existence of undesirable actors and behavior - which came with free will after Adam fell.
My advice again - do what you can control and not worry about those that you cannot.
Blog, generate valuable content, comment on other's blogs and comments, be positive, vote (within limits), learn the rules here, grow your presence and SP - keep all that you earn here to Power Up and add if / when you can and become a whale.
All the best!
Thank you again for the advise you have gained a follower. Maybe we can grow together. All my best,
Check out my post:

It includes a link to an old post that shows how votes are used to reward people. It also has my questions about "last day voting and the people that call this an abuse - no one cared to answer my question.
Thank you again I will.
Also, see my post:

Check my post about trading for STEEM to power up - I finally did it @ 263 - 268 STEEM / ETH.
I have powered Up and my vote is now worth much more: $0.11.
All the best!
$0.11 for each of my vote is with 100%. I am now at only 74.35% of my full SP value.
I just upvoted ya.
All the best!
I Am happy for you freedomshift. Hopefully I';; be there some day soon as well. But for now I will just be envious. Thanks for the upvote. :)
Just came across this: https://steemit.com/life/@as-i-see-it/2-iupdated-discord-links-i-to-help-you-promote-your-work
Thought you might find it helpful.
Zeitlini, you are correct on all counts. Steemit is pretty useless now because you have to be a cheater in order to succeed.
