RE: What Steem Needs The Most: Something A Whale Like @fulltimegeek Understands: Dolphins! Dolphins! Dolphins!

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

At what point is one considered a "dolphin"? I understand that this is probably arbitrary, but has a standard arisen on Steemit about these classifications that I'm not aware of?

Sort:

From my understanding @zoidsoft, it is 5K SP.

On the upper end, I am not sure where the cutoff is from Dolphin to Orca. Of course, literally, SP isnt used but MVests.

I would say 5K-50K is pretty much a dolphin....50K-100K an orca...

I guess that puts me somewhere between a bass and a northern pike.

My understanding has always been that it’s based on powers of 10.

1,000,000 vests = minnow
10,000,000 vests = dolphin
100,000,000 vests = orca
1,000,000,000 vests = whale

The stats from @steemitboard are based on these powers of 10 and I’ve seen them mentioned elsewhere too. Don’t know if it’s official from Steemit, but it does seem fairly widespread.

Which works out to roughly:

500 SP Minnow
5000 SP Dolphin
50000 SP Orca
500K SP Whale

Good to get a general idea.
