RE: Introducing steem2wls: Automatically cross-post your Steem posts to Whaleshares

in #steem2wls6 years ago

@berniesanders - Can you elaborate on that? Who are the criminals and scammers? For me, it seems like Whaleshares was created due to there being a disagreement between their devs and steemit devs like a hard fork?

There are no bots on the platform which is good but I don't think the issue of manipulating the trending feed will ever go away - seen people with 3 upvotes make it to the top of the feed and this "summon a whale" thing doesn't seem to be any different to buying upvotes.

But I like to use a platform first before writing about them so if you have any more information on it, would be great to hear 🙂

Well, I know that @thebugiq on Whaleshares stole my idea for Steemit Open Mic which I started 115 weeks ago and they chose a name so similar (Open Mic Contest) that it's causing confusion. People keep asking if that's me on WhaleShares. They could have come up with a different name at least. That's kind of scammy. I wouldn't call it criminal, but thieves is closer to the truth.

The rules are the same, the name about the same. There's been lot's of people copying Open Mic but at least they make their own take on it. This is a strict copycat.

Thanks for letting me know @luzcypher. I am still pretty new to these sites, only joined steem in March and it's such a vast technical world for a musician/traveller to get my head around!

I go for usability and trustworthiness behind the team and devs (as well as from referrals/good words from those using the platform in some communities).

Sorry they stole your Open Mic idea, that's not cool.

Just trying to piece things together so when I read things that are different to what I have heard, I want to find out more.
