@biasnarrative, have you considered working as a Witness? It would be a triple benefit for the Community, because:
a) a seed node (or even a full one) would be handled by a deeply honest and vigilant Steemian;
b) you'd carry on sharing the worthy data you collect and process, but sending it to a wider audience;
c) I gather you'd keep for yourself the portion of the blocks production rewards you see as being fair (on the basis of your needs), and direct the remaining rewards to a community project, or the general pool.
Currently waiting to get my server up. I have 32GB ram and an old Xeon 2670 8 core hyper threaded CPU.
I need a new motherboard, than I am thinking about creating a witness. I do not want to rent a server like most other witnesses do.

What this individual did was definitely spam. It does not help the platform. If you up vote comments you made that are at least beneficial is someway to the platform, that is different.
This is just spamming reward pool rape. Should not be accepted.
