An open fire will not melt metal. You would need to build some sort of furnace using clay. You will also need a bellows or other method to feed air to the fire in order to get it hot enough. You would also need tools to handle that hot metal and hold it while hammering it flat while it is hot. However, since the pot is made from fairly thin metal, you WOULD be able to work it cold and hammer it flat just with a large stone and a big flat rock to support the pot while hammering on it. Save your branches for some other use and just smash that pot into shape. It will look ugly, but hey... this is what we have to work with.

I noticed you have just 1 pot and 3 pieces of string. You have 2 thighs, so if attaching a shield to each thigh, you would need 4 string and 2 pots. If making a skirt to hang in front of your groin, I suppose it may work if you can get the pot flat enough and large enough to be effective. Is this what you are looking to do?

Making an open fire inside the bunk-house would probably burn down the bunk-house! I think you should take your tools and materials over to the rock pile to do your hammering on. There you should be able to find a nice big boulder to do the hammering on without crushing the rock below the pot.

Crafting is NOT an action, so only the trade with the storage locker and the movements count as actions.
