Hi, welcome to my exploratory sketches of different body parts. Here, I explore variations of poses, body shapes or types. These sketches accompany the main studies which establish the basics.
The back of the neck is an hourglass. Wide from the ear to a mid-point just around the jawline. Then out to meet the wider trapezius.

In the front, the two big sternocleidomastoid muscles drop way lower that I expected down to the top of the sternum. This is a great placeholder for artists trying to connect the head to the body.
