RE: Are you ready for SteemBlast tomorrow? 🚀

in #steemblast6 years ago (edited)

Marketing is not as much of a challenge as the steep learning curve. I recently wrote a post to assist with on boarding new users. The objective was to write a post that people could link to on other social media sites. Then new people would follow that link to get started on Steemit.

Most people I know who haven't come over yet or did and didn't stay active walked away because of the steep learning curve. They didn't stick around because they didn't understand how the place works. The default UI isn't very good compared to other social media websites either.

I'm happy to see steempeak's better UI for that reason. With tools like GINAbot and better UI options, the place will definitely attract more people. Eventually, they will realize that they are the product on other websites, and they are better off financially here. That's a huge difference to explain and share with people.

I'm hesitant to discuss this place as an investment too, and I'd rather promote it for no centralized censorship, no content filtering, no jail, and no shadow banning. Those should be the primary reasons people would want to come here, right? I know they are the primary reasons I'm here at least.

I see your perspective and I love it. There is a freedom awarded to us here which will not be found anywhere else.

For SteemBlast I focused exclusively on STEEM as an investment, which was a first for me.

I've been telling my old social media friends to join me here since day 1. And yes, for most it is too complicated for them to care enough.

Hey, thanks for the SteemPeak tip by the way. I made a review yesterday which seemed to catch a little wave ;)

Really appreciate that!
