Hooray Readers! Bringing yet another fun and crazy video to the community - Mr.P on Video!

Hello, hello Steemians, dTubers and any other Monsters out there! Coming up with yet another fun bicycle video for you. This video is my entry to the @promo-mentors Steem challenge, sponsored by @fundition.

This week we were asked to show what we can do with 5 Steem in our country, in relation to DIY activities. So, let's get the creativity flowing and create something cool and usefull for our bicycles with 5 Steem. Enjoy!

One of the coolest things about cycling is that we can use a lot of creativity to build useful gadgets for our rides. I've shown you how to make a chain protector and now it's time for a mudguard or mud fender.

This simple accesory is very helpful if you like to take your mountain bike out on muddy trails. The front wheel tends to send all sorts of dirt directly to your face, that's why a small mudguard is important; plus the bicycle will look badass.

Materials Used:

  • Scissors / Knife
  • Template (you can find mudguard templates on google)
  • Plastic sheet (can use a plastic cover, just cut the template out of it)
  • Zip ties

I won't go with explaining the whole proccess or the video will be just pointless, but don't worry... it's simple to make and attach to the bike. Take it easy, don't tight it all at once because you'll need to adjust it eventually.

Total Cost

Zip ties = 0.8 Steem
Plastic cover for template = 0.5 Steem
================================
Total = 1.3 Steem

A production mudguard equal to the one we made would cost you 8.3 Steem.

What is the Steem challenge/ Who is hosting?

@Promo-mentors and @Fundition have teamed up to create awareness of Steem and the Steemit community by challenging people around the world to come up with creative ways to spend 5 Steem!

The Promo-Mentors online community provides a platform where knowledgeable individuals can share their expertise and be rewarded for it. To pay the rewards we use the Steem blockchain. The Internet opened the accessibility to information, we build on that by making (expert) knowledge more accessible through blockchain technology. - Promo-Mentors About Page
On Fundition the project Founders can pitch their projects, so Backers can make donations for different fundraisers. Fundition.io was launched on 13th April 2018, with the objective of providing people around the world with an effective method of crowdfunding. - Fundition Website

I have a friend who decided to make a mudguard out of a cardboard box -- but the rainy climate over here ultimately made it so the box disintigrated on him eventually.

Great cycling post! Resteemed to the front page of EXHAUST

Horray @exhaust,

yup, cardboard doesn't work. I'd go with recycled plastic, PET works great. There are some versions made with plastic from soda bottles.

Thanks for the support and for dropping a message!
