A man worthy of our hope (JESUS CHRIST)

1 Peter 1: 3-5

  • A living hope

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy made us be reborn for a living hope, for the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 for an inheritance incorruptible, uncontaminated and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,

5 that you are kept by the power of God through faith, to reach the salvation that is prepared to be manifested in the last time.

The resurrection of Christ is the foundation of our faith. There are many people who think that it is enough to believe that Christ lived and died. But the resurrection of the Savior is essential for what He affirmed about his identity and for Christianity as faith. Returning to the question of yesterday's devotional meditation, we must examine what kind of man this is that rose from the dead.

The answer is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins and who was resurrected because death has no power over Him. The resurrection authenticated the ministry of Christ. All the time, He said and did things to reveal Himself as Lord. When the Lamb of God - the perfect sacrifice for sin - overcame death, it confirmed his identity. Who, if not the Creator, could come back to life?

We could also answer the question by saying that the man who returns from the dead is worthy of our hope. Since Jesus Christ manifested the power of God to give eternal life to his followers, their earthly existence does not march towards the end; On the contrary, it is the opening chapter of a beautiful and eternal relationship with God. The apostle Paul said that when they die, Christians are absent from the body and present before the Lord (2 Co 5.8). Therefore, the best is yet to come!

2 Corinthians 5: 8

8 But we trust, and more would like to be absent from the body, and present to the Lord.

Outside of the resurrection of Christ, there is no hope. Those who go after their own versions of immortality have no security of life after death because, for them, there is none. But believers in Christ face death with the confidence that nothing can separate them from the Father's love. Death is only a brief trip to the heavenly home.

May God continue to help us every day as a family in Christ
