"Because what has frightened me has come to me, what I feared has happened to me: I have not had peace, tranquility, or rest, but only turmoil!"

Job had been living in peace and prosperity in the land of Uz and things had gone so well for him, that he was surrounded by luxury and abundance. Of course he also lived uneasily, and what he feared, came to him. Even in the days of prosperity, his tranquility was disturbed by the uncertainty of life.
We think that is the fear that many people suffer today. The fear that something terrible may happen to them. Our problem is that we stick to our security measures instead of clinging to the Savior. We should be using the Bible as our security guarantee, instead of looking elsewhere. We need to rely on the Word of God.
One almost gets the impression that Job had lost his faith, but it was not like that. This was nothing other than the bitter complaint of a man who was tasting the same dregs, the remnants of the bitter cup of life. Adversity and tragedy had fallen upon him, and he did not understand why the misfortune had befallen him.

This was, then, a monologue of complaints before his friends sitting around him. The language was so dramatic, that it could not be more pessimistic, and Job did not have the answer. At this time, his three friends were preparing to talk to Job. The first of them would be Eliphaz; he would speak and then Job will answer him. Then Bildad would take the floor in second place and Job will also respond to him. And in the third place would Zophar, to whom Job would also give an answer. We ended today remembering the distance, the great distance that Job recognized between him and God, when he expressed in 9:33, his desire to find a mediator, an arbitrator who put his hand on both to bring them together, to reunite them. We said that the passage in First Timothy 2: 5 was the answer to that old cry, unanswered in the Old Testament, by stating that there is only one mediator between God and men, and it is Jesus Christ, who introduced himself in John 14: 6 as the way, the truth and the life, affirming that only through Him could God be reached. Dear friend, God is no longer distant, but very close. In the work of Christ on the cross, He came to us. If you, by faith, accept the gift of salvation, by the Holy Spirit, you become a child of God. He hears what we say, but He also reads our thoughts. From where you are at this moment, you can tell God in prayer right now, in your own words.
