Love always make people do crazy things. Love is indeed powerful and when you truly love someone you don't care about what you would have to suffer for that person's happiness. If there is one thing that will make a man sacrifice everything, give up everything then it is love.

Love is the most powerful force on earth, the bible says that it is strong as death.
Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love. All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised.Ecclesiastes 8:6-7
Love can easily turn the most strongest man into a babe and a weakling. it was what made Samson revealed his deepest secret to his enemy. He never gave a second thought about life before revealing a secret that could end his life. Do you see how powerful love is?
Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.” And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”Judges 16:15-17
It was Love which made the wisest man ever lived looked stupid during his latter days. He loved and married 700 hundred women and had 300 hundred concubines. He never hesitated but attended to wishes of these idolatrous women who eventually made him go against his God.
But King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites from the nations of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel, “You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart. For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as did his father David. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. And he did likewise for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. 1 Kings 11:1-8
A man who feared God and obeyed his ordinances suddenly became disobedient and evil. He once pleased God with his great sacrifice and that made God endowed him with wisdom. Because of the love he had for foreign women he couldn't reason anymore, his heart was corrupted and became evil.
Because of love Jacob served for fourteen years. He loved Rachel so much that he wept for no reason the first time he met her. This was a man who was drunk with love and could easily give up anything just to win the heart of a lady. The first seven years he pledged to serve for Rachel was like few days in his eyes.
Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.”And Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.” So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her. Genesis. 29:17-20
So long as love is the reason you have no excuse but to do what it says. It is so powerful that it can easily make us to do things without thinking or reasoning.
Love is not based on reason, we just love and that is why you must be careful of who you love and what you love.
God doesn't want us to love just anything because it is so strong and powerful:
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world 1John 2:15
We should love God and the things of God and nothing else. The love we have for God must supersede the love we have for anything else.

Amen. Very true. Love moves us to sacrifice for the benefit of its object. That's why we must sacrifice our all for God and his work.
