Most of my life, I have felt a great commitment and social vocation, a need to reach places where I feel I can make a contribution or get involved in some cause that benefits others. It is not that I think that I have the best merciful heart or that I am extremely supportive, compassionate, I believe that it has more to do with feeling it as a responsibility to give of grace what I have received from the Father's grace, based on the opportunities that he He has given me. This desire, feeling accompanies me everywhere and in most cases I play bad moments.
When I see the news, I read the newspaper, I go out into the street, it is inevitable to identify that we live in a world full of needs: social, material, economic, affective, emotional, etc. We are immersed in a society that urgently needs a miracle in their lives to be able to get ahead and achieve their dreams, and in that society we are not alien to you and me, we also have needs, we also have dreams. However, many times our needs are satisfied with a smile or when we feel useful for someone, we felt that in the day our life made sense because we were able to cross someone's shell and we reached his heart, sowing the message of love that Jesus left us.
When we identify with life in this way we approach the model of Jesus, He took advantage of every moment he was on earth to serve others and deliver what he had in his heart, a love and wisdom to all test. But it also happens that in the middle of this crusade to free others, to live life according to Jesus' model, we realize that we do not cover everything we want, that we can not help as much as we want and that we do things the best what we can do with what we have, but that is not enough to help all the people we would like.
The moment we open our eyes to the real world we realize that what we do is not enough and that produces frustration and discouragement, especially for those of us who are more demanding with ourselves, which ends up disappointing us and mechanizing what we do.
These days I was talking with a Pastor very well known in my country on the subject, we analyzed the motivations that led us to want to serve God and to do things according to his plans, projects and purposes, I told him about this crusade for the freedom of " super heroine "that sometimes caught me and how I had to learn to hang my cloak day by day. He, with his experience in his walk with God and the wisdom that characterizes him, ended the conversation with the following: "The moment we hang our cloak we return it to the one who took it off" and those words were an impact for my life . It's so true, when I'm worried, I worry because I can not do the things I want, or I can not help all the people I want, I'm taking away the work from the Lord, who is the super hero par excellence. It's like He was Santa Claus and I was one of the little sprites that helps him distribute the gifts. It does not depend on me, it depends on Him.
One of the things we must accept is that we can never help all the people we want, we can not touch all the lives we want, because we do not do it, God does. And even so, Jesus never worked or worried because there were places he did not get to visit, He had to choose where to go, whom to talk to and at what time.
