WHEN AN ANGEL BECKONS

TEXT: DANIEL 10:10-21

Key Verse: “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, the words were heard, and I am come for thy words” (Daniel 10:12)_

When we are confused about handling some specific problems in life, we usually go to the professionals such as engineers, lawyers, doctors, trusting that their counsel will solve our problems. But God has perfect counsel for His people. We can come to the Lord and ask Him to give us the direction we need in the decisions of life.

Today’s passage deals with the divine messenger (Angel Gabriel) sent to help Daniel understand the vision he had, which he couldn’t understand. Centuries later, this same Angel Gabriel was sent to Zacharias before the birth of John the Baptist, and to announce the coming of Jesus Christ. Daniel prayed until the angel came with the message of God. Daniel became speechless and weak but the messenger’s touch restored his speech and strengthened him.

Truly, “the secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of the law” (Deuteronomy 29:29. There are some things God has chosen not to reveal unto us possibly because of our immaturity. Yet, we have enough promises of God to obey Him and do His will. Daniel persevered in prayers and fasting until the messenger finally arrive. Answers to our prayers may be hindered and challenged by evil and unseen forces. Even so, earnest and fervent prayers of faith will bring the result in due time, if we do not succumb to defeat and failure.

New Testament believers do not depend on angels for leading and guidance, but on the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is holy; thus, we must avoid anything which will grieve Him in our lives, and make it difficult to recognize His leading and guidance

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Avoid being led by the nose; let Christ lead you.
_📖📖📖 COVER to COVER: 1 SAMUEL 9-12

PONDER: Unveiling the mystery

  1. The prince of Persia v13 & the prince of Grecia v21 are spiritual satanic beings controlling the affairs of those empires.
  2. They were opposed to and fight divine revelations and knowledge of the truth v13.
  3. Victories are won and battles are lost in the heavenlies before they are manifested in the visible realm.
  4. These forces are not jokers. They are cruel. The only language they understand is when saints fight back with authority and fastings v20.
  5. Daniel is an example of PUSH- Pray Until Something Happens. No retreat, No surrender, No discouragement. Victory is certain for God's children.

HYMN: Onward Christian Soldiers

1 Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
Christ, the royal Master,
leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
see his banner go!

Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!

2 At the sign of triumph
Satan's host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
loud your anthems raise! [Refrain]

3 Like a mighty army
moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
one in charity. [Refrain]

4 Onward, then, ye people,
join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
in the triumph song;
Glory, laud, and honor,
unto Christ the King;
This thro' countless ages
men and angels sing. [Refrain]

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Lord, give me the anointing that is greater than all my adversaries.
  2. Give me the power to pray and make the kingdom of darkness tremble and collapse.
  3. Lord, I hereby waste and destroy all the powers that are assigned against my destiny.
  4. Lord, destroy all the networks of darkness operating against my Church.
  5. Lord, let the evil prince assigned to this nation be subdued and fail in all his agendas.
