Do you love God?
John 14:15-24
Introduction:
One very important question Christian must come to terms within is “Do you love God”? This question is extremely important because God commands us to love Him and Jesus also taught us that all the law and the prophets hang on our love for God and our neighbour. True love for God must not only supercede other concerns, it must also be visible and practical.
Let us consider some ways of demonstrating our love for God.
Obeying His word and commandments willingly. Anything done by compulsion or in fear is not done in love. When you love God, you will obey Him fully from a willing heart. Deuteronomy 11:1, 2 John 6,1 John 5:3, John 14:15
Worshipping God joyfully. Joyful worship can only proceed from a heart of love. When you love God, you will worship Him excitedly, cheerfully and with joy. Psalm 40:16, Psalm 95:6, John 4:23.
Addiction to fellowship and service in God’s house. Only those who truly love God are addicted to kingdom service and fellowship. What you love is what you enjoy doing. A clear sign of lack of love for God is inconsistent service and fellowship in Gods house. Psalm 27:4, Psalm 84:10, Hebrews 10:24-25.
By giving sacrificially for the advancement of God’s kingdom. 2 Samuel 24:24, Matthew 6:21, 1 Kings 3:3-
