Time should have a positive processing effect on your relationships. When you get married, you should move from one level to another in your relationship. When Cain and Abel gave their offering to God, Abel's offering was accepted because the person of Abel, who had a relationship with God, had been accepted. By reason of his relationship with God, Abel knew God's favourite; when you know someone, you know his likes and dislikes.
If your relationship with God and with your spouse is deteriorating, something is wrong somewhere. The processing effect of time can be positive or negative, depending on where you are coming from. You need to service your relationship with God and with your spouse. If you don't service any relationship, it will naturally deteriorate.
God values your relationship with him above everything you can offer him. Your time is the most important thing that you spend with your family. If you don't spend time in God's presence, you can't be acquainted with him, his ways, likes and dislikes. As a man, your family needs your attention. The greatest thing a woman needs is her husband's attention.
Time must be positively utilized to obtain a positive processing effect. When we don't invest time in our relationship with God and with our spouses, we break divine order. People who put gifts before relationships are likely to over value their gifts. Jesus preferred Mary to Martha, because Mary chose to listen to him, while Martha was focused on giving him gifts. Invest time in your relationship with people.
When you spend time in God's presence, he will process your life. In matt.25:1-11, some virgins were called wise because they made extra investment in anticipation of the bridegroom. They valued their relationship with the bridegroom. Many people don't plan ahead for their relationship with their spouses.
In matt. 25:14-30, the servant who got one talent abused the relationship with his master, and called his name. You must learn to call God by his many wonderful names, as there are edifying names that you can call your spouse. Names have a way of intoxicating people. You should invest knowledge into your relationship with God by knowing many of his names and their meaning.
Let time be utilized positively to process your relationship with God, your spouse and your children. If you are not free with your children, you can't get the best out of them.
Thanks for reading through. Change begins with you and I.
No, you don't make up names for God and call him by those names.
(Isaiah 42:8 NIV) "I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.
It's disrespectful to call God by anything but his name. You can call him "God" or "The Lord".
I didn't say you should make up name for God but make research for God's names and call him by does special names. Thanks for your comment.👍
You're misunderstanding Cain and Abel. Abel offered an acceptable sacrifice but Cain didn't. God WASN'T playing favorites.
(Genesis 4:2-7 NIV) Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. {3} In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. {4} But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, {5} but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. {6} Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? {7} If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
God was clear that what Cain did wasn't right.
That why I said you need to have a good relationship with God. Abel relationship with God was better than that of Cain that why his offering was accepted. The point here is Abel was close to God than Cain that what made him favourite. Thanks for your comment once again.
