Greetings dear community.
Welcome once again to my blog.
Today we will see two biblical examples of how God changed his desicion through the prayer of faithful servants, even when "the will of God is pleasant and perfect", God can change his mind according to the case and who asks him with the heart .
This does not mean that it will always be so; because we must submit to his will.
God is good and merciful and always wants the best for us.
Exodus 32: 11-14 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
11 Then Moses prayed before the LORD his God and said, "O LORD, why will your anger burn against your people, which you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?
12 Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, He brought them out for evil, to kill them on the mountains, and to destroy them from off the face of the earth? Turn from the fierceness of your wrath, and repent of this evil against your people.
13 Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to whom you have sworn by yourself, and you have said to them, "I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven; and I will give to your offspring all this land of which I have spoken, and they will take it for inheritance forever.
14 Then Jehovah repented of the evil he said he was to do to his people.
The intercession of Moses by the people of Israel reveals that God answers the prayers of his faithful servants and allows them to participate in his redemptive purposes and decisions.
No doubt God wanted to destroy the rebellious people; but Moses acting as mediator between the Lord and the people, fervently interceded in order to calm the wrath of God and change his express purpose.
Because of this intense prayer of Moses the Lord gave in, the great truth that is highlighted here is that God makes his servants his collaborators. He names them mediators and intercessors for the lost, and to some extent the fate of those who perish are in their hands.
That is why God has established that the sincere intercession of a righteous person persuades him to change his temporal will and bring redemption instead of judgment.
"The effective prayer of the righteous can do much" (James 5:16)
Prayer if it changes things. God does not overlook the intercession of a faithful servant as long as the hope of redemption remains; intercession will be rejected by God only when sin has reached its height.
It is an unfathomable mystery that God must be persuaded through the intercession of a fallible human being to change the enunciated course of action and turn from anger to mercy.
God is not implacable or a God of unyielding destiny, but a personal God who delights in being moved by the love, faith and prayers of his faithful people.
We find another example of this in the Bible:
2 Kings 20: 1-6 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Hezekiah's disease
1 In those days Hezekiah fell sick with death. And the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, came to him and said to him, Thus says the LORD, "Give orders for your house, for you will die and not live."
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Jehovah and said:
3 I pray thee, O Jehovah, to remember that I have walked before you in truth and with a full heart, and that I have done the things that please you. And Hezekiah wept with great weeping.
4 And before Isaiah went out into the middle of the court, the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying,
5 Return, and say to Hezekiah, prince of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, and I have seen your tears; behold, I heal you; On the third day you will go up to the house of the Lord.
6 And I will add to your days fifteen years, and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will shelter this city for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
In this case we see that King Hezekiah receives a statement from the prophet Isaiah; which, in turn, was the voice of God. God had told Isaiah to talk to the king and tell him that he was going to die.
What I want to emphasize is that the king prayed to God and, the Word tells us that his prayer was heard by God and it was God who told the prophet Isaiah to return and tell King Hezekiah that his prayer had been heard and that God I would give him fifteen more years of life.
I do not know what you think; but, would not you like some of your prayers to be answered that way?
I also say that this option is dangerous, because it shows us that God changed his original decision and position regarding the king's life. He changed his mind for the prayer and action of Hezekiah.
This is strong. Can you imagine God changing certain decisions for the simple fact that you and I are praying? Why do we react with humility to his will?
This tells us that we can influence God by our prayers and attitudes.
However, the Bible says:
"Ask and will be given; look, and you will find; call, and it will be opened. (Matthew 7: 7 NIV)
I believe that one of the reasons we pray is because we know that something can happen, a change, a different aspect, a favor from God.
I want to motivate you and tell you to pray. You can influence the heart of God so that he favors certain things.
I must tell you, yes and of course, that He does not fulfill whims. He acts according to his will, not according to yours; but you can influence. What if God wants to? The Bible says that He hears the one who cries.
Prayer glorifies God and also benefits us. God wants us to let him know the requests of our heart, not because he does not know them (Psalm 139: 4), but because He wants to be glorified when we recognize our complete need for Him.
Thank you for reading this far.
It's an interesting question Enilekcays!
We influence "in God when we are in His will. In other words, if we walk in the will of God and ask for something in prayer, it is more likely to receive an affirmative response because we are doing what He wants and what He has already established for us.
When we intercede, God looks at the intention of the heart, it is clear that God does not want evil for humanity, however, his justice will make him act before evil, but if there is humiliation, there is mercy.
Amen!! God is wonderful ... Thank you for this contribution @steemchurch.
You can't know for sure if God ever changes his mind. For instance, with Hezekiah, perhaps God was making the point that he would be with a righteous king but not a wicked king.
It's like when the Bible says, "God heard..." or "God remembered...". God always hears and God never forgets but the Bible uses that language sometimes anyway.
A hug.Amen sister @enilekcays, I have always said that prayer is the key with God, if it were not for prayer to intimidate God with all situations ... I would have already fainted
Amen sister, the prayer with the heart moves God. and as you say otherwise, we would have already fainted, strong hug!
