Hello everyone, it’s @essiens, it feels great to be back. Today, I wanna speak on the things we need to know about tithing. So please try to read and understand some points here.
However, I came to discover that there are things we the Christians don’t really understand about tithing. So here in article, I’ll let know what tithing is, and also the essential things you need to know.
DEFINITION OF TITHING
Tithing is the act of paying your one-tenth annual income to God.
However, paying of tithe is very important but lots of preachers likes preaching every time in order to get money from their members. Lots of them do say that if you don’t pay your tithe, you won’t be blessed. However, I wanna let you know that in the New Testament, God didn’t say that if you don’t pay your tithe, that you won’t be blessed. No! That’s not what he said. In the Old Testament, you had to do that by following the commandments to be blessed. But here in the New Testament, he is not asking you to do that in order to be blessed. The point is that God’s word is the blessing to you. So the fact is that giving is not the reason for your blessings, but rather it’s a result of the blessings. Secondly, you have to understand that there’s a law of sowing and reaping which is further emphasized in the book of second Corinthians. So giving and tithing is a mean to your harvest.
We need to know that tithing is a partnership. So God didn’t say that if you don’t give the tithe that you won’t be blessed, but rather, the blessings is what brings about the tithing because tithing means giving God the tenth part of that which God has given to you. So he has actually blessed you, so that’s the reason for the tithe. So the tithe is the testimony of the blessing. He didn’t say “Give me the tithe to be blessed”, but he said “I have blessed you, so give me the tithe”.
So if you don’t give God the tithe, it means you’ve not recognized him as the one who blessed you. We’ve all been blessed in different measures, so let’s recognize him by testifying him in form of tithing.
Thanks For Reading...
Tithing is part of the Old Testament law. Israelites were required to tithe to support the priesthood. As Christians we are allowed to give as much as we want. We could give more than 10% or much less. God loves a cheerful giver. And say, the Bibles that he who gives abundantly will reap abundantly and who he gives sparingly will reap sparingly. We don't know if the blessings are financial or spiritual or physical. The Bible doesn't say.
Most people couldn't pay their bills if they gave 10%.
