I like your post, it's well written. The only problem is this; when you praise someone, you child for doing well, do you say, praise you Johnny? Not likely. If he does something well, you will likely say, that's excellent son, you did a fantastic job on your essay (or whatever). I'm proud of you! So why is it, when it comes to offering up praise to the Father, we simply say, praise the lord? Praise him for what exactly? Wouldn't it make more sense and have deeper meaning if we were specific? Certainly he knows that he's done a good job but wouldn't it make us more inclined to show our appreciation and gratitude by saying, for example, Father your creation is amazing, your mercies are fantastic, (etc) instead of praise the lord?
