There was the story of a farmer who needed farmhands for his farm along the coastline. He interviewed many people and almost all we're either not good farmhands or we're afraid to work along the coast line for fear of storms. The farmer eventually got a young man and when he asked him whether he could do the work his answer was that he knows he could go to sleep when the wind blows! The farmer didn't quite understand this but he employed him anyway. One fateful night, a storm stared threatening and the farmer went quickly to wake up the young man so he could secure things on the farm against the storm. The young man said: "but I told you I could go to sleep when the wind blows" and promptly went back to sleep!

The farmer left out of frustration to go and secure the farm himself only to find out that everything was already secured. As in Jesus parable, a man who can go to sleep in the storm is a man whose house (life) is built on a solid foundation. Building one's life on a sure foundation entails doing all that is commanded in the word of God. Not many Christian can boast of that. Strive to build your house on a sure foundation.
