A disciple like his master (Matthew 10:24)

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Jesus told his disciples that it was enough for a disciple to be like his master nothing more, nothing less. If he was evil spoken of, should we expect less?

It appears that the context in which Jesus called His disciples to work is a difficult one, a rather hostile one. The world is shamed by the way a true disciple of Jesus lives and would do everything to put him down. Yet this is where we are called to live and work. What do we do, cringe in fear? Jesus says no! We are not to live in fear but in full confidence in our God and father, who has the ultimate power over life and death. He is the one we should fear. Sometimes, this conflict carries over into homes. Nonetheless, we are to stay true to our Lord and master; we are not to be

ashamed to identify with him and his cause in this world.

Is someone reading this today being misunderstood, evil spoken of, and persecuted because of his or her faith in Jesus? Are you on the verge of quitting and thinking that this race is not worth the troubles? Hang in there, our master will not abandon you without help and without reward. '

Matthew 10 : 24-30

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a servant or slave above his master.

25It is sufficient for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant or slave like his master. If they have called the Master of the house Beelzebub [[i]master of the dwelling], how much more will they speak evil of those of His household. [II Kings 1:2.]

26So have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known.

27What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

28And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).

29Are not two [j]little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave (consent) and notice.

30But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Prayer Lord, it is enough for me to be like you in this world. Please help me!

Thanks for reading am @fredoski God bless

It's the joy of every master for his disciple to do better than him. And this was the same case with Jesus Christ. He wanted the disciples to fully accomplish their ministry.

Thanks for your contribution.

My heart fill with joy when I see steemchurch contributing on my post . Thanks a lot I really appreciate

The true meaning of Christian is christ like, that means working and acting in the foot step of Jesus Christ, we are disciples of jesus and we are call to serve

We need training to be better disciples ourselves. Jesus knew that the territories that his disciples were going out to preach are hostiles territories, so he wanted them to be better prepared. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate your contribution @jaff8 God bless you

Are you a true disciple of Jesus Christ? Now, please don’t misunderstand my question. As soon as some people hear the word “disciple” they think of a super committed Christian. In their minds there are “believers” and then there are “disciples”. To them, a disciple is kind of the spiritual Marines. These are those believers who really live out their faith in daily life. They renounce their old lives, and live their lives wholly for God and His glory. Many Christian leaders teach that you can be a believer and not a disciple. In other words, you can have Jesus as your Savior, but never sur ender to Him as your Lord, and you are still genuinely saved and on your way to heaven! My friends, that is sheer nonsense. The Bible teaches that every Christian is a disciple, and every disciple is a Christian. The word “Christian” is just a nickname for the disciples of Jesus. In Acts 11:26 the Bible says, “The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Before that time, there was no nickname. They were just called “Jesus’ disciples.” When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn’t tell them to make believers of all the nations. No, He told them to make disciples of all the nations. When He told them to make disciples of all the nations, He was telling them the same thing that we have recorded in Mark 16 when Jesus said, “preach the gospel to all creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved.”

Jesus sent us into a hostile world. They loathed Him thus they will abhor us! Our exceptionally lives condemn the murkiness in others. We are going one way and whatever remains of the world is going in the other! This is the reason we need to set our affections on the things above. We ought to have our attention on Jesus and the prize. We can energize ourselves that this life is short and that we have time everlasting in front of us.

wow wonderful post thanks for sharing with us all

If you take a closer look at the Apostles of Steemchurch, they've acquired the same qualities of our leader @sirknight. This is because when you fellowship with someone that possess good or bad qualities, it rubs off on you.

Show Me your master and I'll tell you who you're. Jesus left His mark on His disciples and they behaved like Him. The did marvelous works even after Jesus was gone.

This article is rich, thank you

This is a great message. Nonetheless, we are to stay true to our Lord and master; we are not to be. We require preparing to be better trains ourselves. Jesus realized that the domains that his supporters were going out to lecture are hostiles regions, so he needed them to be better arranged. A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing.

It's the delight of each ace for his follower to improve the situation than him. What's more, this was a similar case with Jesus Christ. He needed the pupils to completely achieve their service.

I totally agree with you

It's the delight of each ace for his follower to improve the situation than him. What's more, this was a similar case with Jesus Christ. He needed the pupils to completely achieve their service.

Is it accurate to say that you are a genuine pupil of Jesus Christ? Presently, kindly don't misjudge my inquiry. When a few people hear "pupil" they think about a super dedicated Christian. In their psyches there are "adherents" and afterward there are "devotees". To them, a follower is somewhat the otherworldly Marines. These are those devotees who extremely experience their confidence in day by day life. They repudiate their previous lifestyles, and experience their lives entirely for God and His greatness. Numerous Christian pioneers show that you can be an adherent and not a supporter. At the end of the day, you can have Jesus as your Savior, however never sur ender to Him as your Lord, and you are still really spared and on your approach to paradise! My companions, that is sheer gibberish. The Bible shows that each Christian is a devotee, and each pupil is a Christian. "Christian" is only an epithet for the supporters of Jesus. In Acts 11:26 the Bible says, "The pupils were first called Christians in Antioch." Before that time, there was no epithet. They were simply called "Jesus' pupils." When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn't instruct them to make adherents of the considerable number of countries. No, He instructed them to make pupils of the considerable number of countries. When He instructed them to make devotees of the considerable number of countries, He was revealing to them a similar thing that we have recorded in Mark 16 when Jesus stated, "lecture the gospel to all creation. He who accepts and is purified through water will be spared."

Jesus sent us into a hostile world. They hated Him and so they will hate us! Our very lives reprove the darkness in others. We are going in one direction and the rest of the world is going in the other! This is why we have to set our affections on the things above. We should have our focus on Jesus and the prize. We can encourage ourselves that this life is short and that we have eternity ahead of us. Meanwhile we must endure and we must conquer. We are here as we have a task to complete. We only have to be faithful in this.
Great post!
Thanks,
Daddy William
