Jesus is the narrow gate that leads to life, even though many claim to be an alternative, there is no other way. This is what makes Christianity unique, it is not either or, it is Jesus only. It is important in a world that believes that there are many other ways, to emphasize that Christ is the only way.
Matthew 7 verse 14 -20
14.by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.(A)
15.Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.(B)
16.You will [l]fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17.Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [[m]worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.
18.A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear [n]excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].
19.Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
20.Therefore, you will [o]fully know them by their fruits.
This leads directly to the message of W14-20 which is a warning against false teachings and teachers. These usually emphasize false piety and disguise as sheep, but are actually dangerous as wolves. Sometimes you cannot easily discern them from their message, but ultimately we can know them by their 'fruits', the outcome of their lives and message. Sadly, sometimes they would have ruined many lives before they are discovered for what they are.
Again, we need to be careful, if we are really his disciples we have to show it by our lives (vv.21-24). In a time when many are chasing after miracles and the demonstrations of power, and it has become popular to identify with Jesus and give him only verbal allegiance, let us be warned. Miracles do notalways mean God's approval.
Lastly, the only real evidence of true discipleship is obedience to the words of Jesus and this is true wisdom. This is the life that will endure, so Jesus taught, with divine authority, who can add to it?
PRAYER : Lord help me to be wise and obey your word

Thanks for this beautiful sermon.....
It’s easy to point fingers. It’s easy for us to condemn such obvious sin but we must be careful! We too have embraced this graceless wisdom. We live it out in our refusal to forgive the friend who hurt us. We decide to hold on to our bitterness a little bit longer. We live it out in our refusal to give help, aid, money, or whatever might be needed. We hold on to our time and our possessions a little too tightly. We easily become overly concerned about ourselves, and we forget that the signs of false wisdom are bitterness, envy and selfish ambition.
Thanks for sharing this post.
Many people call themselves christains, are they believers ? Some goes to the church for going sake but the main essence is that they failed to underatand that the main reason for going to church is for them to worship God. Be obedient and do God will.
Quite true @fredoski Most miracles are only mentioned in His name but they are hardly of His making and approval. Many seek for a solution and that is by a miracle but God hears us all equally if we seek him. Thanks for this post.
Even the best churches are filled with people who aren't saved and won't be saved. The biggest problem is unsaved pastors.
Wow nice post thanks for sharing with us all
Much obliged for sharing this post.
Numerous individuals call themselves christains, are they devotees ? Some goes to the congregation for going purpose yet the fundamental embodiment is that they neglected to underatand that the principle explanation behind going to chapel is for them to adore God. Be devoted and do God will.
the main genuine proof of genuine discipleship is submission to the expressions of Jesus and this is genuine shrewdness. Incredible sermon Fred!
