Dear Brothers/brethren of @steemchurch, blessings to Pastor @sirknight and all the parishioners of blockchain. I wish to share with you all a very interesting lesson today titled "Why Does God Allow Suffering", i urge you to take your time and read through this post, you will surely be blessed.
I have pondered on this above topic for quite sometime, I personally have asked myself questions "Why This Loving God Would allow Us to Suffer in a World Created by Him" but as a result of my indepth discovery into God's word i have been able to have understanding to this questions which I would want you all to take heed of:
We all feel it. The pain of this world. The darkness at times trying to cloud out the light. You don't have to go very far to feel overwhelmed by how devastating life can be. Sickness, loss, failure, heartache, tragedy, disappointment, death. We all know it too well. In those moments, it can be easy to ask the question why. For those of us who have experienced the goodness of God, even we too wonder at all this, but the question remains:
WHY SO MUCH SUFFERING?
What reasons are sometimes offered to explain human suffering, but what does the Bible teach?
People of various religions have gone to their religious leaders and teachers to ask why there is so much suffering. Often, the response is that suffering is God’s will and that he long ago determined everything that would ever happen, including tragic events. Many are told that God’s ways are mysterious or that he brings death upon people
—even children—
so that he can have them in heaven with him. As you have learned, though, Jehovah God never causes what is bad. The Bible says: “It is unthinkable for the true God to act wickedly, for the Almighty to do wrong!”
—Job 34:10.
Why do many people make the mistake of blaming God for the suffering in the world?
Do you know why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches. The real ruler of this world is Satan the Devil.
How does the world reflect the personality of its ruler and How have human imperfection and “time and unexpected events” contributed to suffering?
The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.
A second reason why there is so much suffering is that, mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9) A third reason for suffering is “time and unexpected events.” (Read Ecclesiastes 9:11.) In a world without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Why can we be sure that God has a good reason for allowing suffering to continue?
It is comforting for us to know that God does not cause suffering. He is not responsible for the wars, the crimes, the oppression, or even the natural disasters that cause people to suffer. Still, we need to know, Why does Jehovah allow all this suffering? If he is the Almighty, he has the power to stop it. Why, then, does he hold back? The loving God that we have come to know must have a good reason.
—1 John 4:8.
NOW ANOTHER QUESTION YOU MAY BE BOTHERED WITH IS:
Why has God allowed suffering to continue for so long? and Why has God not prevented such things as horrible crimes?
Why, though, has God allowed suffering to go on for so long? And why does he not prevent bad things from happening? Well, consider two things, First, God has not stopped Satan and those who side with him from trying to prove that they are right. Allowing time to pass has thus been necessary. In the thousands of years of human history, mankind has been able to try every form of self-rule, or human government. Mankind has made some advances in science and other fields, but injustice, poverty, crime, and war have grown ever worse. Human rule has now been shown to be a failure.
Secondly, God has not helped Satan to rule this world. If God were to prevent horrible crimes, for instance, would he not, in effect, be supporting the case of the rebels? Would God not be making people think that perhaps humans can govern themselves without disastrous results? If Jehovah were to act in that way, he would become party to a lie. However, “it is impossible for God to lie.”
—Hebrews 6:18.
SCRIPTURE IS NOT SILENT ABOUT THE PAIN AND SUFFERING IN OUR WORLD
Peter told us,
"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you."
(1 Peter 4:12) Paul and Barnabas told those they ministered to,
"We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God." (Acts 14:22)
God doesn't deny the suffering in our world, instead He mercifully prepares us this will happen. He is not just a God who relates to us, but He is also a God who has taken part in our suffering, and suffered immensely on our behalf through the cross of Christ.Scripture is no stranger to the messiness and disappointment of our world even while trumpeting the goodness of our God.
Nothing can encourage us like God's Word. Here are 5 powerful, Biblical reasons why God allows suffering in our lives:
1. Suffering drives us to dependence on God
Pain and suffering cause us to run to God with our need. When we realize we are not in control, and that our lives are a "mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes" (James 4:14) we cling to our God in heaven who alone is our rock and sure foundation. Suffering drives us to lean on God like nothing else could, and it allows us to see that God is enough. It allows us to see that we have something worth far more than anything this earth can afford.
2. Suffering helps us identify with Christ's sufferings
Multiple times, the Scriptures point to how suffering allows us to identify with and draw near to Christ through suffering in a way we can get no other way. Peter says,
"Rejoice when you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed." (1 Peter 4:13)
Paul says,
"I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings." (Philippians 3:8-10)
Paul is saying that nothing is worth as much as knowing Jesus, and we come to know him more through his resurrection power, but also through sharing and identifying with Him in suffering. There is a level at which you cannot know Jesus more except through your suffering.
3. Suffering reminds us this world is not our home
Suffering and pain cause us to long for our heavenly home, and live more fully for eternity. Suffering shocks us into remembering that we are "temporary residents and foreigners" on this earth (1 Peter 2:11) and
"this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come." (Hebrews 13:14)
When this happens, we redirect our lives with more eternal purpose than before, and we focus more on pleasing the Lord. The good news in our suffering is that,
"Because of Jesus, all our pain is temporary and all our joy is eternal." (Dave Willis) and "The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us" (Romans 8:18) - "an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison." (2 Corinthians 4:17)
4. Suffering humbles us
Suffering reminds us of our humanity, of our finiteness. When we go through sickness or loss, we are reminded we are not in control of our lives. My friend Jon Bloom writes, God gives us grace in opposing our pride, for "the humble will dwell with God" (Isa. 57:15). Humility is our greatest friend, and often comes through no other avenue than by suffering in our lives.Psalm 119:71 says what so many of us already know by experience, "It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees."
5. Suffering is used to train us in righteousness
God often uses suffering to train and discipline us as his children in order to grow us into maturity in our faith.
"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:7-11)
Endurance and patience are vital aspects of growing into maturity in our faith. Look at these 3 important Scriptures on it:
- "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1:2-4)
- "More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." (Romans 5:3-5)
- "Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:5-8)
God isn't just interested in coddling us. While he definitely gives incredible comfort in all our trials (see 2 Corinthians 1:4), He is also interested in using them to mature us, and teach us to trust Him and to spend our lives for what matters most.
I Hope you have been blessed today with this post of mine, i hope to talk to you all soon, Remain Blessed!!!

God has never in one time very happy seeing us suffering or undergoing any sort of punishment.
The first man and woman decided to taken ton then advice if the devil and went on to eat the forbidden fruit.
This which they did made us to inherit the evalasting suffering .
As Christ came to the earth he was able to shade his blood and to make us clean by giving us his teavmchings and what we should do to avoid been punished by the living God.
The plan of God wasn't to make man die but brcuase of their disobedient he alliwed death to take over our life .
But with his son which he gave us for free, for whosoever accept him will surely have evalasting life.
God bless you too for this powerful enlightenment about why we suffer and the way for. Good work
But even with the suffering in the world, if you are a true child of God, you will still live a life free from suffering in this world, even though Satan Is the one ruling the world currently.
You are right @kparobo, thanks for sharing, truly as believers we can live a life free from suffering if only we believe in our true maker
