Judges 14:5-6 (NLT)
"As Samson and his parents were going down to Timnah, a young lion suddenly attached Samson near the vineyards of Timnah.
At that moment the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him, and he ripped the lion's jaws apart with his hands.
He did it as easily as if it were a young goat. But he didn't tell his father or mother about it".
A lion is always dangerous no matter how small it is. If the bible compares the weakness of a young goat to the strength of a young lion, then just as the young goat is harmless as the adult goat, so as the young lion is as deadly as the adult lion.
Samson knew what God has given him from above and as such, he did not feel intimidated by the young lion. Thus he faced the animal squarely and defeated it.
He believed in the strength that was given to him from birth. And in the history of the world, no man has ever done that ever after.
God has given us strengths that can be used to accomplish impossible tasks.
Just as Samson had the strength to break the jaws of a lion, so do we also have the strength to overcome any enemy that attacks us.
David knew his strength was not in swords and spear but in his small sling and stones. Yet he believed in what those two weapons can do for him and he never hesitated to use them.
"Then Saul gave David his own armour- a bronze helmet and a coat of mail.
David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like, for he had never worn such things before.
I can't go in these, he protested to Saul. I'm not used to them. So David took them off again.
He picked up five smooth stones from the stream and put them into his shepherd's bag. Then, armed only with his shepherd's staff and sling, he started across the valley to fight the Philistine".
If you always want to win the battle or succeed at whatever you are doing, then you have to believe in your little strength and use it.
Stop working with your weakness and start working with your strength.
God knew with why He gave Samson the strength of his hands and gave David that of the sling and stones.
David believed in his strength and ability to use a sling and common stones and so he felt uncomfortable with Saul's armour, thereby rejecting it. He knew he couldn't use it effectively as Saul would.
Somebody's strength is another person's weakness.
Always believe in what God has given you and be happy to use it for greater good.
People often waste their time trying to improve their weak areas or master the things that they are not good at, instead of the opposite.
Even in ministry it happens. Some pastors try to prophesy in their churches whiles that is not their area of calling. As a result, then end up giving false prophecies that God didn't speak to them about.
Why not teach your congregation if that is what God has given you to do and be a master in that area rather than attempting to do things that are not meant for you.
Operate in your area and always try to be the best in that field. God specifically gave you that strength for a purpose and if you believe in it, you can achieve anything that you want to.
