.... A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

The parable of the sower is a very popular one in the Bible and carries a powerful message. It talks about the sower who scattered seed on 4 types of ground. The first ground was "by the way side" and the birds ate it. The seeds signifies the "word of God" and the hard ground depicts someone hardened by sin. This person hears the word but does not make use of it. The second ground talks about a rocky ground where it germinate quickly but it and died when the sun came up. These illustrates the a person that receives the word and obeyed but changed back to his old ways.

The third ground talks seeds that fell on a thorny ground. This person receives the word of God and grows with it but it his heart is distracted by other things like lust and other sinful lifestyle. Finally, the good ground is the person that reecieves the word of God and grows with it till the end of time.

The parable of the sower can also illustrate our deeds whether good or bad. Our deeds are like plants that will sure germinate. In this life, "we reap what we so", I can relate with these because few months ago, I helped an old lady at an ATM stand and few days back I was stranded at a place and it was raining. Next thing I saw was a car drive towards me and it was the woman I helped at the ATM stand few months back. To summarize the whole parable, a man reception of the Word of God is determined by his heart.

Fine parable. Good choice of words. We definitely want to be the good ground the seed fell on. Thanks for this interesting contribution.

This parable shows how different persons receive the good news. It will be difficult for a seed that falls on a stone to grow. Today there are people that act as if their hearts are as hard as stones. Thanks for sharing this.

The parable of The sower is a very good example of the Christian life today, most people receive the word of God and neglect it, some other never got the opportunity to hear it, others heard it, followed it, but backslided along the way

As Christians we must learn to understand the concept of this parable, in our journey of Christian reach, so as not to fall by the Way side.

My Understanding Of The Parable Of The Sower
The seed is “the word of the kingdom.” The hard ground represents someone who is hardened by sin; he hears but does not understand the Word, and Satan plucks the message away, keeping the heart dull and preventing the Word from making an impression. The stony ground pictures a man who professes delight with the Word; however, his heart is not changed, and when trouble arises, his so-called faith quickly disappears. The thorny ground depicts one who seems to receive the Word, but whose heart is full of riches, pleasures, and lusts; the things of this world take his time and attention away from the Word, and he ends up having no time for it. The good ground portrays the one who hears, understands, and receives the Word—and then allows the Word to accomplish its result in his life. The man represented by the “good ground” is the only one of the four who is truly saved, because salvation’s proof is fruit

Thanks for sharing this message. Every Christian can be found in this parable but I want be among those who always receive the word with a good heart and become doers of the word @innozent

A lot of people hear the word of God each day but less turn to bear good fruit out of it because of a our heart.Let prepare our heart no matter how hard things may be for us ...lesson learned from this piece....stay bliss

Simple but powerful, thanks for sharing this with us

Sowing involves fertile ground also the parable of the sower let us know that he had the intention of sowing good seeds but he ends up sowing some on the wrong ground,it this indicates tjat when we sow we shouldnr expevt all to germinate for rain will wash some away and birds will eat some.

For every seed we sow will surely germinate but it depends on what kind of seed. Let us endeavour to always plant a good seed to we will yield something good too.

The parable of the sower can be described has how we understand and comprehend the word of God. To some, it might be temporal while it is permanent to others. God bless you for sharing this. More increase i pray.
Shalom!

It is constant that for where there are good they would definiately be the bad ones.
We should make our life an examplinary one by living a life that will sow good seeds in our lives

Fine illustration with the picture, the parable of the sower teaches us to be wise in our decision making, so we can reap the fruits of our labor bountifully!

I really gained alot from this write up.... Will await more from you

DID YOU KNOW WHAT THE SOWER SEWED? THE WORD....
WE ALL NEED THE WORD LIKE A SEED....
Don't let the word fail in your life, let it grow....
Nice post

I agree with @jaff8. It also tells us that the kingdom of God is not on a first come first serve basis. That is it is not fixed that whoever receives the message first will make it to God's kingdom. No wonder scriptures tells us that we should make our salvation with fear and trembling.

The parable of the sower defines our attitude towards our christian life. Let us sit up and be like the seeds that fell on the good soil.

Lately we have being talking about parables, remember parables are earthly words that have heavenly meaning. Every parable the lord said had one or two lessons he did not just say them for the fun of it. Here I learnt that anything we sow we will reap it so it is better we sow good do as to reap it.

Very nice and concise!
God bless!

A strong parable from the Bible.
Our attitude to hearing the gospel depicts how our hearts take it. A hardened heart can never accept the word and allow it grow.
