The Bible does not use the phrase "a world government" or "a world currency" to refer to the end times. However, it provides ample evidence that allows us to conclude that the two aspects will exist under the rule of the antichrist in the last days.
The apostle John in his apocalyptic vision in the book of Revelation, sees the "beast" coming out of the sea, who is also known as the antichrist. This beast has seven heads and ten horns (Revelation 13: 1). Combining this vision with the similar vision of Daniel (Daniel 7: 16-24), we can conclude that a class of world political system will be inaugurated by the beast, by the most powerful "horn", who will defeat three of the ten kings and will wage a war against Christians. The confederacy of ten nations is also seen in the image of the statue in Daniel 2: 41-42. In this vision, the last world government made up of ten organizations, is represented by the ten toes of the statue. Whoever the ten is and the way they come to power, the Scripture is clear that the beast will rise to the power of their midst and become the most prominent king of all. In the end, the other kings will carry out the orders of the beast.
John describes this governor of this vast empire as someone who has great power and authority, which Satan himself has given him (Revelation 13: 2). He receives adoration from "the whole world" (13: 3-4) and "was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation" (13: 7). From this description, it is logical to assume that this person is the leader of a single world government, which is recognized as sovereign over all other governments. It is difficult to imagine the way in which those different governments that are in power today will voluntarily submit themselves to a single ruler, and there are many theories on the subject. One idea is that the disasters and plagues described in Revelation, such as the seals and trumpets judgments (chapters 6-11), will be so devastating and will create a monumental global crisis, that people will accept anyone who promises help. .
Once consolidated in power, the beast (the antichrist) and the power behind it (Satan), will move to establish absolute control over all the peoples of the earth. Its true purpose is to receive the worship that Satan has been seeking since he was cast out of heaven (Isaiah 14: 12-14). One way in which this objective will be achieved is to control all commerce, which is where the idea of a world currency comes from. Revelation 13: 16-17 describes a kind of Satanic brand that will be necessary to be able to buy and sell. Whoever rejects the brand will not be able to buy food, clothing and other necessary things. There is no doubt that the vast majority of people around the world will receive the brand simply to survive. Verse 16 makes it clear that this will be a universal system, in which all, rich and poor, big and small, will carry the mark in their hands or on their foreheads. There is a lot of speculation as to the exact way in which this brand will be placed, however the technologies available today can easily be done.
Those who remain after the Rapture of the church, face an unbearable choice, accept the mark of the beast to survive, or face the danger of dying of hunger and horrible persecution by the Antichrist and his followers.
I think I read this article somewhere else. Deja vu.
