The bible has a great deal to say about motivation. Motivation is defined as that which moves one toward an action; that which changes, provokes, or impels our very being.
2thessalonians 3:6-11
6:Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7:For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8:Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9:Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10:For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11:For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
Motivation to work is two-fold. Firsly,It is true that work is beneficial and as a result of this, it help in other for an individual to be able to cater and support for oneself and ones family. And secondly, work provides the means to share with one who has need (wants).
Therefore, the work we engage in whether with head or hand should be seen as a step of faith and positive actions to support our prayers.
At this stage of the universe, the higher and middle classes in our socities are quick to lookdown upon the manual work done by the poorer classes to earn their daily bread.
I will like to say that the only thing that one should be ashamed of is idleness. Idleness makes a person end up walking disorderly and becoming busybodies which is not worthy of us as God's people. And for this reason, no honest work or labour should be dishonored or undignifying. We must learn to appreaciate the fact that every honest work is worthy of commendation, respect , praise and credit.
So, even as we continue in the journey of life, don't forget to always appreciate the honest work people do no matter how little it may look like. And always pray that God makes way for them where it seems to be no way so that they can continue to labour in honesty and dignity and be able to assist those who are in needs .
Very good Ladywayne1, in all work there must be so much motivation and honesty, saying and doing the opposite is anti-ethical, maintaining a profile of love and sincerity is the most beneficial thing so that people feel truly loved.
