Gen 30:22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
Gen 30:23 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
Gen 30:24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
Both Rachel the mother of Joseph and Mary the mother of Jesus required intervention from God to conceive a child.
The Jewish Rabbis believed that there would be two messiahs, one exalted and one suffering. In reality it is one Messiah that would suffer and later return to rule as King.
Joseph and Jesus were favored by their father.
Joseph was "beloved of his father" (Gen. 37:3). Of Course Jesus with the Heavenly Father
Joseph and Jesus were known as shepherds. Joseph of livestock (Sheep) and Jesus was the Shepherd of a human flock
(Gen. 37:2). Joseph was a shepherd
Joseph and Jesus were both sent forth by their fathers
Joseph was sent " (Gen. 37:12-14).
Joseph and Jesus were betrayed by their brethren
Joseph's brothers conspired to kill him (Gen. 37:18).
Joseph was raised out of the pit and Jesus rose from the grave
