Daniel 1 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Daniel and his companions in Babylon
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and besieged it.
2 And the LORD delivered into his hand Jehoiakim king of Judah, and part of the vessels of the house of God; and he brought them into the land of Shinar, into the house of his god, and put the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
3 And the king said unto Ashpenaz, the chief of his eunuchs, that he should bring of the children of Israel, of the king's seed of princes,
4 young men in whom there was no blemish, of good repute, taught in all wisdom, wise in knowledge and good understanding, and fit to be in the king's palace; and to teach them the letters and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's food, and of the wine which he drank; and that he should bring them up three years, that they might come before the king at the end of them.
6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, of the children of Judah.
7 To these the prince of the eunuchs gave names: Daniel, Belteshazzar; Hananiah, Shadrach; Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abed-nego.
8 And Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he asked the prince of the eunuchs that he should not be compelled to defile himself.

Daniel a prophet called by God to use it in a very strong time that was happening Israel the people had contaminated themselves had a king who played to be God and thus manipulated the people with bad doctrines that did not come from God, had as counselor witches and sorcerers who guided him to have a good reign by making sacrifices to their gods.
The good thing about this is that Daniel prayed to God and never defiled himself and proposed from the bottom of his heart not to defile himself with those false doctrines by not eating from his food that used it for sacrifice everything around the king was defiled. Daniel's fasts were edifying for his life with his prayer Daniel stood firm in God waiting for the moment when God would blow His wrath on each of them for being unfaithful and fouling His presence by worshipping false gods.

We are living through difficult processes in these times in which many by necessity turn away from God and look at false doctrines believing that there is only the solution. They just look at their need and focus on the things they lack in their home and forget about God, they don't care if the food that comes into their hands is contaminated or is stolen so to speak! but their heart and mind are away from God's heart and love.
God only wants us to remain in the place where we fall in love with his presence and that there is no turning away because the true God who has the power who created all the earth is the jehova of the armies. Let us pray with understanding and stand firm as faithful children who recognize that only God is the one who has the solution by being an example and nothing will touch us.
For that same reason the lions did not eat Daniel and the fire did not consume the brethren, because their faithfulness to God the means of so many evil doctrines never faded away remained faithful they were holy men.
