If you are asked now how are you, the usually reply will be "i am alright or i am Ok", whether you are or not. Some may know that they are not really Ok, but most peoples don't.
Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived before Jesus said,
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2 ESV
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Proverbs16:2 ESV
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs14:12 ESV
So almost everyone has an "inward knowing" that they are alright, even when they are not. This is because their conscience does not discern between what is right and what is wrong. The conscience is an educated thing, and only discerns between what they believe to be right, and what they believe to be wrong. God is the only one who knows the truth, and he says,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans3:23ESV
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. John1:10ESV
Dear reader, this means that unless you know Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour and Lord, and obtain the forgiveness of your sine through him, you are certainly not "allright".
The good news is that God made a way out for you when he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for everybody's sin:
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 ESV
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1peter 2:24 ESV
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31 ESV
