Welcome to my blog
God bless you!
Blessed is the man who put his trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:4
(Jesus said:) All that is written of me in the law of Moses, in the prophets, and in the psalms, must be fulfilled.
Luke 24:44
When we read a psalm in the Bible we discover the feelings experienced by the author. Many psalms, such as Psalm 40 quoted in the heading, are prophetic writings announcing the sufferings of the Messiah, the Lord Jesus. Also, as we read them, we feel identified in the various circumstances of our present life, whether in sadness or joy.
In Psalm 40 David evokes extreme situations from which God drew him. Through these experiences David speaks to us in advance of "the sufferings of Christ" on the cross (1 Peter 1:11). That is the true meaning of this psalm.
Our lives also find their meaning in the light of Christ's life. When we go through situations of distress, we can say to ourselves: "Jesus preceded me and was there with me. Of course, Jesus never sinned, but He suffered the weight and punishment for our faults: "I have been surrounded by many evils; my iniquities have overtaken me" (Psalm 40:12). That is why He can understand and comfort us, even when we cry because of our faults.
"God bowed down to me and heard my cry," testifies David (v. 1). Let us not hesitate to invoke God, to express that cry of faith when we are in "the pit of despair" (v. 2). God responds to one who prays to him. Then will spring up in us that sweet exclamation: "Blessed is the man who put his trust in the Lord".

@mosdad. Confidence is a fundamental element in every relationship, our relationship with God can come into conflict if we begin to distrust when things do not turn out as we expected
Hope fuels faith and trust confirms it. Hope reminds us that we have a covenant with God, it brings to memory His promises. But faith works when trust is maintained until the day of fulfillment.
Thanks for comment.
Amen!
