The Concept of Priorities
As Christians, there is a life we have been called to live. It is a life of beauty, prosperity, glory, radiance, influence and dominion. We should know that the life we are living was given to us as an act of trust by our Lord Jesus and as such we ought to use it to glorify him. In 2 Corinthians 5:15 (TLB), the Bible says;
“He died for all so that all who live-having received eternal life from him-might live no longer for themselves, but to spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and rose again for them”

This is amazing! You see a Christians especially as leaders of nations, we ought to have priorities in our lives. You can’t afford to live the life of an unbeliever or a believer who is yet to discover his purpose. For you to be a leader means that you know you purpose. The above verse tells us that since we have eternal life which is also called the God kind of life(Zoe), we shouldn’t spend our lives trying to please ourselves rather; we should spend it for Jesus Christ and his kingdom. The work of the kingdom of God comes first before any other thing. In 1 Corinthians 10:23 (AMP), Apostle Paul said
“All things are legitimate [permissible – and we are free to do anything we please], but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable, and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]”
Also you see, having priorities in your spiritual life will help you follow things that pertain to the spirit in the spiritual way. Don’t try to live the life of an unbeliever which everything goes, NO! Live the life of a leader who has been called to lead and direct the lives of men and women whom God has entrusted to them. Choose to do only things that are profitable, edifying and can build spiritually. The only way you can prioritize your life after the things of the Kingdom is by being passionate about the things, of God’s Kingdom. In Colossians 3:2 the Bible says;
“Set your affection on things above not on things on the earth”. I love the way the Message Bible puts it
“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ- that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective”

This is marvelous! As a leader which is called by God on the earth, you ought to stop seeing things the world sees them. Prioritize your live based on the word of God before the standards of this world. Most people think their earthly possession can save them on the last day. Remember that the world is only temporal but there is a life after here where nothing dies and is a life forever without end. Know your purpose and write out your vision for you have been chosen to make great impact to your generation. In Habakkuk 2:3 (AMP), the Bible says;
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day”
God’s word is sure, though heaven and earth will pass away but God’s word will ever remain. Whatever God has said about your life, He will hasten to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12)
It may tarry but we ought to wait earnestly for it. There is a day for the coming of lord and for the manifestation of his word but we must be ready by prioritizing what to do and at what time and place.
