Vision of the Outer Darkness

in #steemchurch7 years ago

I have just had a vision of the Outer Darkness, and it is not exactly as I have previously imagined it. In some areas, the environment will remain largely unchanged, in terms of soil viability and water availability, as well as many structures remaining intact and viable as shelters.

However, water pipelines and power lines will be completely redundant, resulting in these pieces of infrastructure eventually being torn apart to salvage the materials they are made from, mainly being steel and copper.

The only power available in most areas will be what can be cobbled together from intact solar panels and crude wind turbines, with salvaged batteries. Clean water supplies will be mainly limited to what can be collected near springs before it becomes contaminated by residual nuclear fallout, much the same with rainwater, at least for a few years.

Those who can find work for silver will be a little better off, but for those who don't find work, these naturally liveable areas will become places of conflict, fought over in the same way diamond mines are fought over in some parts of Africa.

Unless... yes, unless the people drawn to these isolated oases are spiritually mature enough to work together, pool their efforts, knowledge and resources in such a way as to store the spring water and protect it from contamination, and hopefully restore as least some of what has been lost by that point. Such a means of cooperation may even present itself as a second chance to be admitted into the Kingdom of Christ.

These of course are the 'good' areas, the places where potential for life remains. There will of course also be areas where killing is the only way a person may hope to survive, places where nuclear blasts have taken place, and those few survivors are subject to horrific disfigurement...

It's interesting that there will be safe areas. I don't ever recall hearing of them in the Bible. Good to know, though.

The safe areas are places we could keep our pets!

I don't want to live in the unsafe area's of the outer darkness

I imagine these 'safe' areas will be very few and far between, likely no more than a handful on each continent

I can't even imagine when the poles flip and the earth starts shaking among other things what it will look like all over...

Good publication we hope that promised land, that where killing is not the primary option
