Text: Hebrew 5: 5-9
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that
said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order
of Melchisedec.
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and
supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him
from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered;
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all
them that obey him;
Obedience' is something that has to be learned and be accustomed to Our Lord Jesus did just that by being obedient first to His earthly parent. Even though He was eager to go about his heavenly Father's business at the age of twelve. His learning obedience made Him to hearken unto Joseph and Mary (His earthly parent) and remained under their guidance and control for 18 years. During this period, He would have been trained and brought up as a child, possibly ran some errand. He started learning obedience from here, such that when a harder circumstance came upat the time He was to be crucified, He still subject Himself to the will of the Father. Obedience means putting our instincts, interest and will on hold to do someone else‘s bidding.
As Christians, we should start learning obedience from these simple ordinances and at evew stage of life when we need to demonstratea respectful attitude to God's commands. Our acknowledgment of God as our Loving Father and Jesus Christ our Saviour must be with some sense of loyalty. One obedience will lead to another and help us in the learning process; just as one disobedience will also lead to another. By fulfilling the ultimate obedience, Jesus Christ becomes the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him; meaning that because He has obeyed, He can now be obeyed and is now obeyed. Beloved, only our visible obedience to God and steadfastness in His will can earn us respect in the brotherhood and even in our society.
As Christians, we should start learning obedience from these simple ordinances and at every stage of life when we need to demonstrate respectful attitude to God's commands. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, we should obey God but first we need to know what to obey. God has laws for every man on earth given to Noah, he has laws for the Jews specifically, some specifically for Jewish men some for women, some specifically for Jewish high priests. But the old covenant is done away with by Jesus's death on the cross and we have the command to love God with all our heart, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves (also Acts 15:20). If we love God we would love his word and try to learn and study it as best we can so that it may be true what Jesus said "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
