In today’s world we have a lot of experiences that imprint on us and in trying to please others and be like the actors and actresses we lose ourselves and our identity , and lose ourselves

Identity is the centrality of performance and productivity. Your being is the foundation of who you are. Life and the possibilities that it offers are within the circumference of its being. Plant life can only afford plant being; animal life can only afford animal being, angelic life can only afford angelic being; and so is the divine life. Our opening Scripture reveals what God had in mind when He wanted to make man. It says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion….”

God meant for man to be made in His image, and after His likeness. Verse 27 of Genesis 1 tells us that God actually made man in His image. Man is the image of the invisible God; he is the visibility of the invisible God. Therefore our identity stems from God. We take our reference from God. You are like God in Christ. You are God’s offspring in Christ, a brand new man, made in the likeness of God. Hallelujah! That suggests what you are capable of. You are wired with God’s ability to act like God. Little wonder the Word tells us in 1 John 4:4 that we are of God, and have overcome satan and his cohorts; for greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

As we learn of God through the Word, we discover our identity. As we look in the mirror of the Word, we see the glory of the Lord, and we are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18). Stop trying to discover yourself outside of God; stop trying to ask people to know who you are, because they don’t know. Go to the mirror of the Word, and see for yourself by the revelation of the Holy Spirit, who you truly are. Then, you can operate and perform optimally, according to His Word. You cannot truly know who you are until you know God. God is the Rock from whom you are hewed; He is the parent Rock of ages from whom you were chipped.
Christ is our role model, he his our identity
