The Bible tells us how God loved Abraham.He repeatedly spoke to Him concerning how He is going to bless and established His descendents.As at the time God was always speaking to Him , Abraham had no Child.
One will wonder how this was going to possible ,because every descendants of an individual start from the onset of children ,it is out of that they will all multiple.
It was very difficult for Abraham to see the end of the spoken word because we all know that the beginning of some event tells us how the conclusion will be.
God used so many signs , as to the way He was going to make His descendants.
RIGHTEOUSNESS GAINED
Abraham held the words of God in a precious way and believed the spoken word of God ,out of this He was credited to be righteous.This is why apostle Paul also wrote to the church at Roman 4:3 "For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness"
We need to believe any spoke word of God for their is always a reward in believing in the word.

The words the lord spoke to Abraham was a promise.The lord confirmed the promise by granting Sarah , Abraham's wife an amazing child as the scriptures says
"The LORD came to Sarah, just as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised."
The lord God did us He spoke and now the descendants of our father Abraham can't be counted.
Any promises we have received from the lord us believers will surely be accomplished by Him.He is man that He should lie.He will surely do whatever He has said about your life.Let all believe and have faith in Him.
