This article was inspired by E. W. Bullinger, a book called How To Enjoy The Bible, it was written in the early 1900's and has inspired me to a lifetime research research to the Word of God, I hope it will also inspire you.

There are a few basic elements we must state before we get in-depth on how to study God's wonderful Word. First we must know that there is only one requirement that is written in the word from the Word to studying Word. We must rightly divide it. I am a Muslim who has different faith, but I am still writing this article for Christian men, to help here in SteemChurch. I hope you enjoy following information.

II Tim. 2:15 Study to shew yourself to God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightfully the word of truth divides.

It matters little what people have thought or said the Bible says. There are volumes that have listed the names and views of people who have said the Bible says and we would learn very little if we were studying it all we would only be confused. We need only to stay in the Word and do not leave the pages of the Bible to the fact that God revealed.

Secondly we must know the object of the word of God and that is to reveal the Father and the Son. Third we must know what the subject of the Bible is; Jesus Christ the promised seed of Genesis 3:15

General 3:15 And I will put you in enmity between thy and thy wife, and thy seed and his seed; It will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.

The Bible must be seen and arranged with reference to Christ. The words, commandments and objectives of God are all centered in Christ. The thread from Gen 3:15 through Revelation is Christ and we must first keep our minds in it to the truth of God's Word.

The form of the Bible: "The WORD OF GOD" is a whole to us in two separate parts: one written, originally, in Hebrew; the other in Greek Only in the Versions are these two, and bound together in one book. This division, of course, is not human, although the names by which they are generally known. Up to the second century the term "Old Covenant" was used by the Greeks to describe the Hebrew Bible. This passed into the Latin Vulgate as "Vetus Testamentum," from which our English term "Old Testament" was derived. The new Testament is a one off of that.

Fourth we must adhere to which the scripture has been written. This is the subject matter of the Bible. We have said that Jesus Christ is the subject of the Bible but the subject matter of the Bible is the people of whom Scripture is written. For example, there are the Jews, the Gentile and the Church of God.

Fifth we must know what God is referring to the subject, subject matter and the times that the script is referring to. These are sometimes called the dispensations in the Bible. The Greek word for dispensation is oikonomia and refers to the act of administering by Figure Metonymy, the act of administering the transit to the time it is administered on.

The present dispensation called Grace; is not in law, judgment, or glory. This is the time that is called "the Administration of the Mysteries" secret (as the word Mystery means in the Greek) "which is not in other ages to be known to the sons of men" (Eph. 3: 5). It was "hid in God from the beginning of the world" (Eph. 3: 9). It was "secret kept since the world started" (Rom 16:25). But Paul was the special administrator of all the truth connected with it. It was committed to him by God: and the Word of God could not be "completely preached" without it (Col 1:25, margin). The word of truth can be preached today, but it can not be "fully preached" without the truth connected with this Mystery.

We have seen five principles which are required for Biblical study to "rightly divide" the Word of God. One, the requirement, we must rightly divide the word. Two, we must know the object of the word; to reveal God and His will to us who believe. Three, we must know what the subject of the Bible is; Jesus Christ. Four, we must follow the subject matter of the Bible; to whom it is written. Five, we must know what is written in reference to one through four which is the time. When the scriptures were written and what times are the scriptures referring to?

When we apply these five basic steps to the Bible studying, our eyes of understanding will be given to be cleared that we may know what we have in the inheritance of his wealth of glory.

My 5 7 keys (I am a Christian):

  1. First understand and accept that the Central Character is Jesus - note: Christ is not His last name as we normally look at a name stated as "Jesus Christ". "Christ" - means "the title, also treated as a name, given to Jesus of Nazareth"
  2. Understand and accept that the Central Theme or Story is about where and how the world came from and why and where it will go or become - a mixture of "mystery" about the past, history as recorded or told by God, and prophesies.
  3. Be careful to distinguish and discern between literal statements, allegories, parables, and history - history can be verified. Note: only mathematics and logic can be proven - not science or history, let alone prophesies.
  4. Understand, accept and believe that what is in the Holy Bible is either true or false - there is no shades of truth. With that said, the Holy Bible has survived thousands of years of scrutiny and challenges. But, as in the Holy Bible - it is written: every man is wise in his own eyes. So will you and I be - wise in our own eyes. So, set that idea aside before you start reading the Holy Bible.
  5. The Holy Bible was written by men, inspired by God. It is written for all people and all generations. Therefore, the language is understandable to anyone with just a little education - the purpose of how it was written. Because of that, when reading the Holy Bible, don't let the simple language and words lead you to think that the content and messages are simple - quite the opposite. This means: Do not read it like a novel! Do not read it only once! Do not read it from front to back like most other books or writing - they are not necessarily in the order that we should read - there are many cross references and books are not always in chronological order because that is not possible.
  6. The Holy Bible talks about and have answers to all aspects of this world, human life, past present and future. It is in there - prophesies are still being fulfilled and becoming true / verified. We are in the end times.
  7. The Holy Bible is the Word of God - written by chosen men - to call people to Him and receive Salvation and Eternal Life through the Sacrifice and the Blood of Jesus, AMEN!

this is a beautiful reply. thanks for enlightening here.

Great post, don't stop the good work
