Happy new month my parishioners, we bless God for bringing us into another new month which is the second month of the year. It is a privilege to be alive today, and I pray we all will continue to be alive and witness many more days on earth. We need to always thank God for all what He has done for us but unfortunately, there are some people who thinks those things they get are their rights, they only believe it is because of their sweat, smartness and intellect that qualifies them to get what they want but they forgot that God is the one that made all possible and instead of thanking Him, they will not.
Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor my power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Whatever you do in life and you think it is by your own power you were able to do it, hear what the above scripture says, it is only by the power of God. You can never do things by your own strength, sleeping and waking up is not by your own strength, many have gone to the grave through their sleep, but God decided to save you and keep you safe till now. There are many reasons to give thanks to God
In Luke 17:17-19, it was only one leper out of the ten lepers that got healed that came back to give thanks to God, it shows that he is grateful for the changes in his life. As Christians, if we don't show gratitude, it is very grievous and wicked act and it is a sin to God.
We should give thanks to God in different ways:
- When it is well with us
- When we are in different situations of life
- When you are dissapointed, abandoned and rejected
- When we are going through trials of life
- When you are experiencing delay in things of life
THANKSGIVING SHOULD BE DONE WITH A PURE AND CONTRITE HEART AND NOT GRUDGINGLY
We should always thank God no matter the situation. Thank you for sharing this with us.
