Empowered For Success By The Holy Spirit 2
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

I stated there that God purposed tha the Holyspirit, play a vital role in the life of the believer. This was prophesied innJoel 2 vs 28-29 and came to pass in Acts 2 vs 4. While the Lord Jesus as God in human flesh, during His sojourn on earth, emptied Himself of His divine powers. He relied on the Holyspirit for guidance and empowerment (Phil 2 vs 5 -7). He did this as an example for us. He showed that a man relying on the Holyspirit can please God. Before His crucifixion, he informed the disciples that when He is glorified, He would ask the father to send them the Holyspirit
and I will ask the father and He will gice you another Counsellor/comforter to eb with you forever - the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept Him nor Know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.....
But the Counsellor, the Holyspirit whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Role of The HolySpirit In The Life And Ministry OF Jesus Christ
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
He was conceived by the Power of the Holyspirit
He was filled with the Holy Spirit and led by the Holy Spirit
The infilling of the Holy Spirit empowered Him for life and Ministry
He relied completely on the Holy Spirit's enablement fpr His Ministry in terms of Preaching, teaching and healing.
The life and ministry of Jesus typifies that of the believer. The Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of pentecost to perform exactly the same roles He played in the life of Jesus.
Is The Believer Filled With The Holy Spirit The Same Moment He Is Born Again?
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The believer is marked in Christ with a "Seal" which guarantees the believers inheritance until the redemption of those who are Christ's from the world. This seal is a measure of the Holy Spirit. His presence within us is the evidence that we belong to Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holyspirit, in Contrast, is receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit to empower us to be "witnessess" with our livs and service. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite experience that every born again Christian must experience to be fruitful. He is the Strenght for Christian life and ministry. Without the baptism of the Holyspirit, thw Christian life will be characterized by struggles and failures. He empowered the Lord Jesus to be successful; He is to play the same role in our lives. Therefore at the moment of bring norn again, the believer receives a measure of the Holyspirit while at the baptism of the Holyspirit he gets filled.
#Conditions For Receiving The Holy Spirit
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is promised to all who believe. He was "Poured Out" at Pentecost and therefore is available to everyone who believes. A major condition required is being born again, whilemthe believer must desire and ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. No works or sacrifices or "seed" is required. The believer simply needs to understand that this is the father's provision for him to live a victorious life and is available free of charge. All that is needed is the expression of faith for this dividend of the finished work of Christ on the cross to be recieved.
How The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit Can Be Received and The Evidence
- He can come Sponstaneously On Those That Believe Without The Agency Of Man
The Holy Spirit came spontaneously on the Lord Jesus at the onset of His earthly ministry. Following obedience to the injuection to tarry in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit came upon the early disciples spontaneously. Most instructive is the experience of Cornelious amd his household. While Peter was still preaching the gospel to them, the Holy Spirit came upon them evidenced in the speaking in other tongues. They had not had water baptism or done any of the things that churches may lay emphasis on today. This showed that the Holy Spirit is available to all who believe irrespective of race, spiritual age or hierarchy. Believers should know about the Holy Spirit early and no bottle necks should be placed on the path to receiving Him.
- He Can Be Received Through The Laying On Of Hands
The baptism of the Holy Spirit can be experienced through the laying on of hands as depicted in the scriptures above. Whichever way it occurs, what matters is the believer receives the enablement for life and ministry soon after salvation. How frutiful the local church is, depends on how many members are filled with the Holy Spirit and therefore empoweed to live victorious lives.

The baptsim of the Holy Spirit is necessary for success in the Christian life. He enabled Jesus to attain great success in His earthly ministry and He is available to also help us. You must ensure that you are filled with the Holy Spirit continually by living in fellowship with other belivers , ensuring that God's word dwells in you richly and living a life devoted to personal and corporate prayer. Thank you for making me see that baptism of holy spirit is not the same as water baptism. It is an even deeper step forward. That is why we need to always supplicate God to give us his holy spirit.

Since we Christians should live as christ when he was on earth, it is then necessary for us to have the holy spirit in us to make this even more possible
