What is a prey?
A prey is a creature being hunt by another superior creature without a mean of escape.
Many christian have had to contend with captivity and have make themselves a prey to the devil, just because they do not know the God they serve. Captivity refers to, "bondage", "slavery", "imprisonment", "detention" or a "lack of freedom". Another another way of being a prey is by surrendering your to devil. This occurred when there is war between your faith and the power of devil and the sole person end up giving up (which I called failure) as a result of this lost battle the person is automatically a prey to devil expecting his death.
(Daniel 1:1-7), A battle like that happened to Shadrach, Meshach and Abedbnego when King Nebuchadnezzar invaded the nation of Israel and took them captives thinking that they have found a prey that will surely serve their god, but with a great faith and their trust the living God they became the superior creature over the capturer.

CAUSES OF BEING A PREY?

Disobedience

This is an act of going against the word of God, going against your parent by telling them that you will only do your own will. This also happened to Samson in (Judges 16:4-5) when Philistines used a beautiful woman as a hunter to take Samson as a prey. Today, there are several “hunters” of destiny and life all around, setting all kinds of traps to get their prey. May you never be one of their victims!
Covetousness

Covetousness is act of desire wrong desires of possession and being covetous can also lead. greediness, adultery, fornications, acquisitive, grasping, avaricious e.t.c
Covetous is another bad thing that turn a great man or woman into prey. This occur when that thing you have does no longer satisfy you, then you look for deadly way to acquire another.
This is very common to the married men, where they keep on running after young girl despite been married to a very beautiful wife and this small girls are agent of devil trying to ruin the happiness that has been established in your home.

HOW TO AVOID BEING A PREY

OBEDIENT TO GOD'S WORD
BE SATISFY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
HAVE FAITH IN GOD
PRAY TO GOD TO GIVE YOU DIRECTIVES
ASK GOD TO PROTECT YOU FROM TRAP OF THE ENEMY

FOR THOSE THAT ARE IN THE CAPTIVITY THAT WANT TO BE DELIVERE:

ASK GOD TO INTERVENE IN YOUR SITUATION
ASK HIM TO HELP YOU OVERCOME
TELL GOD THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE A PREY TO THE DEVIL AGAIN
ASK HIM TO DELIVER YOU FROM THE TRAP OF THE ENEMY

I think with this God will touch your heart and you will be free.
