And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.

In the past, several times Jacob had earned the deception. He deceived his brother Esau, his father Isaac, his uncle Laban. This time, however, Jacob found himself fighting against an adversary he could not defeat, to receive what he wanted from his birth: the blessing of God!
The prophet Hosea tells us that this individual was an angel of God (Hosea 12: 4-5). However, often, when the angel of God appears in the Old Testament, it is thought that it was Jesus himself who appeared in human form. Therefore, it is as if Jacob had struggled with the very God.
He had to learn a lesson that even the apostle Paul had to learn centuries later:
And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me
2 Corinthians 12: 9

What blessing do you want to receive?
For your present or future marriage, for your children, for your future work, for your health, for your spiritual growth, for your church, for your own life, For your nation.
Get up and fight the good fight.
The Power of God is perfected in our weakness. If on some occasion we have felt weak, far from God, that we can not do the work of God, that we can not continue on this same day, or that I can not get up and move on, what we can ask the Lord is the Power of God, and hear from him when he says: My Grace is enough for you! Glory to God for his Grace! It is the Grace of God that helps me move forward, that drives me, that strengthens me, that helps us remember that we are Christians, and we are children of God.
As Jacob fought for his blessing, we fight for ours. He left us that example of clinging to God and believing Him. "If you do not bless me you will not leave"
