Us guys often tag the ladies as materialistic. I mean, you meet a girl for the first time and immediately she is sizing you up; running her eyes from your head to your feet. She wants to know what kind of phone you use. She may be peeping at your bunch of keys to see one with doubly serrated edges then she’d try to spot a manufacturer’s logo or she is peaking at your belt buckle or the shoes to be sure they are by Gucci or D&G.
Our first impression about such females is that they are materialistic. The lament of the brothers over these matters at the usual joints have not ceased since the very beginning, for as long as violence has been suffered by the kingdom.
There have been instances where these items were borrowed; the girl fell head over heels for the dude only to realize later that it was all a charade. If they are not all about the money he possesses they might fall into the other category; those who ask the most dreaded question; where do you see yourself five years from now? Dudes be like, “hian!!! na job interview me dey?” The eloquence of some hommies has been the only thing that got them out of that one without giving a definite answer.
Dudes be like adam Levine and the twins saying “I train, I have a plan. You just need trust me mehn!!” While she feels this is a relevant issue which should be brought to the fore, the brodahs often feel it is a ‘quaternary’ issue, not worthy of consideration until much later, if at all #snickers#. Just so know, this usually includes the guys who are actually serious about the relationship.
Enough yapping here, lets get to the point I hope to stress today. The guys just can’t understand why these girls are so interested in what they have or don’t have. After all, his only care is that she passes the ‘FBB’ test, cooks well, has potential for great sex and nothing much more afterwards, why can’t she be the same way? In return the ladies might ask, why can’t we have a maid to do the cooking and feed the baby with artificial milk? Between seeing as we never find out until we are already in finger-cuffs, I guess potential is all we have to go by.
And No!!!! Don’t ask me how we permute the potential. jeez!!! You ask too mush fa!!! Moving on then… Here’s what got me thinking along these lines, it is something I found again recently. The 35th verse of Genesis 24 captures pretty much everything Rebekah needed to know about this dude, Isaac, before she accepted to marry him.
It contains all the speech the servant needed to make to steal her heart for his master’s son. “The Lord has blessed my master abundantly and he has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, menservants and maidservants, and camels and donkeys” Hold on!!! Do you want to read that again?
It was all about camels and donkeys and sheep and servants and abundance and the lot, nothing said about Isaac as a person or his background. No history about witchcraft or family curses, no question of whether or not he was nice looking, short or tall with a pointy nose #tongueout#, what he was currently working on and how he intended to live in the future. No family history of lying to save their skin when captured by a king, no family history of HEADS PUD (you know yasefs). NOTHING!!!!.................................to be continued!
Well how about that introductions of yours?
Rebecca was a virtuous women, she didn't ask any material question before she decided to marry Isaac, infact, she never even knew Isaac, and she went ahead not knowing what she was getting into.
At the end, she ended up with a very good husband, and beautiful children.
Sometimes in life, we need to follow God's footsteps and his ways and allow him guide us.

excellent so informative comment 😊 good work josediccus
Thank you buddy
Thanks for sharing this with us, When Isaac saw Rebekah, it was love at first sight. They got married right away. And Isaac loved Rebekah very much!
It will be a long time before you think about getting married. How do you think you will find just the right person share your life with? It probably won't be the same as it was for Isaac and Rebekah, but if you ask God to help you, I think he has just the right person for you. Nice post at tikub
Nice caption i am sure this story has some morals to potray, chosing a patner based on material this is just building od a mansion on a sand there are qualities to look out for, rebecca saw this and she never asked much again.
This write up portrays an informative fact about marriage, marriage has to do with compatibility not really with materialistic gains from each other it is more or less like a a partnership, its union scripturally should live to please the other. Traces of infidelity should not be outlined with selfishness. An advice to the ladies is that they should not prioritize material prosperity of their intending spouse as a criteria for marriage.Rather they should be considerate, act wise by putting what is worthwhile which is a healthy and mutual understanding and compatibility relationship which will promote peaceful co-existence and a enjoyable union
May God direct us to choose the right partner.
Thanks for sharing
And guess what?
Sometimes, God's choice of a partner may not be who we 'feel' it should be.
But God's choice is the best!
Great post
Wow!!! Tikhub, you won't stop to amaze me. This post is interestingly wonderful (if there is anything like that) lol
But then not all ladies are materialistic, some are good wife materials that can build up good homes .
And to the guys, even as Rebeca never asked of the height, the pointed nose, the witchcraft or family background, you too should not go for a girl because of the hips, the boob's, the body shape , the complexion and so on. Remember the devil (Satan) is the most beautiful creature. I'm not saying you should marry a beautiful lady ooo.... Lol
But choose wisely and allow God lead you
Nice post once again dude.
Thanks for this awesome post @tikhub
It's by God's grace one will choose the right partner, but the truth is, early signs and potentials may give us a heads up.
