"I would hurry to shelter myself from the fury of the wind and the storm." Psalm 55.8
Storms are inevitable, so we need to prepare to face them. As Jesus taught, our family life and the need to be well fixed to face windstorms, floods and storms (Matthew 7, 24-27).
Psalm 55 speaks of a time of many struggles that confronted David and said that he would fly like a bird to protect the temporal.
How to deal with storms?
We will learn how to recognize that a storm is approaching on time to prepare us dear brothers of Steemchurch.
1- strong wind:
Isaiah 25.4 "That it may have been a poor fortress, the strength of the needy in its affliction, a refuge from the storm, shadow from the heat, because the impetus of the violent is like a storm against the wall."
The first thing that birds perceive when a storm is approaching is when they feel the wind begin to get stronger. That being the case, they hurry to protect themselves.
God is the one who protects us when we go through struggles and in their presence they are protected (Psalm 91,1).
When the wind begins to blow hard, seek to pray more and seek the presence of God who guards you from all evil. Do not be exposed to danger, seek refuge in the Lord who is greater and stronger than the temporal.
Seek shelter from the strong wind!
2 -The dark clouds:
Matthew 16.3 "And in the morning: Today there will be a storm, because the sky is red, Can you discern the aspect of heaven, and can not discern the signs of the times?
The birds also come that dark clouds are coming on the horizon and that is why they seek to go in another direction where they can be safe until the storm passes.
Jesus taught that we can understand when a heavy rain comes. This means the literal understanding of climate, but it can also serve life in a symbolic way.
When the sky is not clear and clean we are afraid because we can not see the clear horizon as we need to contemplate our dreams. If things are like this it is because you are about to go through a storm. Then warm up and wait to pass.
Dark clouds are passing!
God protects you in storms!
Both the wind and the dark clouds are passengers. One can undo the other. Or the winds push and scatter the clouds or they surround the winds. Anyway even by the name 'temporary' is understood to be something only for a while, then everything happens. The best we have to do is open up and wait.
Storms are inevitable and as a sailor we have to know how to act in the midst of it, raise the anchor of the faith and row until there is bonanza.
