So, it's not a ton, but today I delegated 1,000 SP to @steemcleaners. I have been hesitant because I really only want to delegate to things within the Minnow Support Project or to things that directly benefit minnows. I have a few thoughts.
@steemcleaners helps everyone
When someone abuses the system they steal rewards from all of us. When @steemcleaners drops a flag it returns rewards to everyone. So, their flagging rewards all the users on the platform. So, I feel pretty good that this project meets my minimum definition of helping minnows as I think they'll disproportionately benefit by the work done.
@steemcleaners is transparent
I like that it's pretty easy to know the rules for cheetah and for steemcleaners. Don't plagerize. Don't do hate speech. It's pretty simple. I'm sure there is more too it, but that's the gist. I think they are good about communicating what they look for, why the flag, and have the ability to resolve conflict. All of those things make them a great team.
I happen to like the people
I think @anyx and @patrice in particular are pretty swell. I know there are others involved, but these are two of the folks I've had the most interaction with and hold both in high regard.
So, I know it's not MSP, and I know that's ok, and I'm excited to share I'm helping keep this place free of shitposts and spam.
I'm gonna do an extra thing too.
I'm in part responding to @timcliff who suggested folks on the platform delegate. I also want to make it easy for others to do and ask that they pitch in some too. I'm gonna make that easier too by providing a few links so you can do this in just a few clicks:
Delegate SP to this @steemcleaners:
50SP, 100SP, 250SP, 500SP, 1000SP, 5000SP Don't delegate so much that you have less than 50SP left on your account.
I may add more to this later, but next up I'm working on msp-mods, a reward system for msp-waves audience members, maybe some love for a new game called Steem Monsters, and eventually some love for PAL-studios too.
@aggroed...I have 1 concern about Steemit. This is the red flag. Yellen could buy 10 Million Dollars of Steem Power. Then she could downvote all the posts of @aggroed and the amount would be zero. She could do that even with a bot. Youtube could do the same if Steemit would get a threat for them. This is quit scary. Am I missing something about the red flag?
She'll have to buy 10 million dollars of steem first. Play the supply and demand game. Limit supply, cost goes up, she gets less steem power. Stop selling it ppl!
@bamboosteemer ...at some days the volume in 24h is more then 100M$. This 10M$ wouldn't push up the price noticeably. Maybe from 4.1$ to 4.3$.
@mafsteem ...We should be fine for the next 12 month or so. I think the elites haven't even noticed yet, what a threat steemit posses to them, but I agree to your concerns.
@stehaller...I have exactly the same opinion. To me Steemit is a very good investement the next 6 months. Then it could get dangerous because of the red flag.
That was the first thing that i thought, but if that happens they just need to put a system up to prevent that, maybe something like, u can only flag a % of someone's payout, and a system where u lose SP if you use and abuse the flag option
@teutonium...When do the delegates realize this happens? Maybe 51 of the delegates are not affected and have no interest to change something. Where is the border of abusing? Nobody knows. Just no red flag and everything would be fine.
You have a point with someone outside who is rich can come in and ruin it all for the rest. Yet are there not a specific amount of steem in circulation that can be bought and even if it is all bought Dan has control of the majority hence will step in if anyone tries to manipulate steemit. Our its just my wishful thinking?
@mawit07...I think it's just your wishful thinking. The top dogs have no interest to give away the red flag. The top dogs will be happy the price of Steem goes up.
I also have the same question I asked my friend and did not know the answer @mafsteem
@venox...It's a pity the delegates have no interest to hide this red flag.
I hope they do this my friend @mafsteem ♥
@venox...It would be a surprise because they have the power and this way they think to keep the power. The deeper problem of this is DPOS. Steemit is trusting 51 of the 101 delegates. That's like a parlament. There is not 1 parlament in the world who is doing what people want to be done. DPOS could go the same direction.
@mafsteem...The solution to the red flag would be, just get rid of the downvote/flag option.
@stehaller...it would be the solution. If you talk to the delegates it's almost impossible they will do that. They think it's a wonderful weapon. I think the deep incentive for them is to control the system.
What is the solution in your opinion ? :-( @mafsteem
@venox...Short term (3-6 month) Steemit is a good investment because at the moment this platform can just work with DPOS. It's very fast and very cheap because it's just stored on 101 Servers. With POS this wouldn't be possible now. This year the Update Casper of Ethereum is coming. Then this kind of social platform will be also possible with POS. Then there will grow other platforms. The solution is to stay awaken, to watch the market and to sell at least a part of Steem in a couple of months.
Yeah she could. But she's just 1 person. There's a whole community here. There are unintended consequences to that.
@aggroed...She is a very powerful person. She can print even 10 Billions in a second out of thin air. And there is youtube, google, Facebook, twitter. Not less powerful. Without this red flag everything would be fine. But like this I don't see a long term future for Steemit. I read the delegates like this red flag to control the system. Very dangerous. This way the delegates could get suddenly controled by the big system. But maybe you mean with unintended consequences, the delegates will hide this red flag if this happens?
I attempted to delegate and got an error message.
Fixed. 1am for me...
Yes you did :)
Great endeavor for a greater good.
Keep on steemin'
This is a great thing to do, and I am happy to see many of the more experienced members here to help so actively minnows & the quality of the content in the platform!
When I first got here, It was very difficult to find how to do many things and was hard to understand some basic concepts but I am thankful that the answers are here, waiting to be discovered :)
Regarding the steemcleaners, I plan to do an article in the near future, to understand and explain more about what they do. I recently published an informative article about the cheetah and her complementary work along with some suggestions, that I hope will be taken under consideration by @anyx.
Thank you for sharing this information,
Katerina
It's not everyday we get people who are supportive and concerned about the community and it's survival, well done @aggroed
Thank you for supporting projects which keep steemit free from spam and shitposting nonsense.... I really am disheartened when I see comments like 'This is a great post I will follow you for more' and think that this platform is simply being abused by people who are botting and hacking the system.... I really look forward to more posts from @steemcleaners showing how they are using your delegation.
Also I was wondering I had 15 delegated SP when I first started and now it's gone after I invested some money into SP - is it gone because of time lapse or because I now have my own SP ?? Thanks @lonestarpoet
Thank you lonestarpoet,
We really appreciate all the feedback that we receive.
You're welcome
Mine has gone also, it seems when you add your own sp, for every 1 you add, the system takes 1 away, until you reach the threshold of 15, then you have 0% allocated, as I guess 15 is supposed to be stable enough to keep you going, if I am wrong someone will come along and say, that though was my own personnel experience, hope this helped?.
Its a great informative poat thanks for sharing dear...
I like this delegation, but please tell us more about steem monster! You dropped the teaser so long ago!
Im also concerned bout it too
I'll 3rd this. Upvoting original content for more views/replies.
i am already delegating my steem power to the community
Definitely a good initiative. Good contents should get proportionate rewards and copied content should be dealt with accordingly.
I think @steemcleaners are doing a very necessary job.
wow nice your look
I don't want to sound greedy, but some others pay most of the SP you send them in SBD.
yaah great step toword reduce the abuse language and etc ! great to see its very helpful for steemit!
"it's pretty easy to know the rules for cheetah and for steemcleaners. Don't plagerize. Don't do hate speech."
That sounds like the rules of youtube where they attempt to sneak in all radical Marxist agenda under the sun under the guise of "opposing anything Marxist related is hate speech".
Kind of like that one guy the other day with a 200k views youtube video about why socialism is bad and Youtube demonitized it. Then of course anything nationalist related is also banned.
Any nation without an ethnocentric majority collapses, which is the only reason nations like China and Japan still exist after thousands of years. But this counters the Marxist agenda and they try to ban objective reality and any opposition to Marxism under the guise of "hate speech".
The Marxists also of course have no problem with there being "too many Chinese people in China", "or too many Africans in Africa". There can only be "too many white people" somewhere. Don't support anti-white, Jewish originated Marxism.
For all the crying shitlibs, Trump got elected because you supported the Marxist, white genocide agenda. The more you support this white genocide cult, the faster the other side is going to elect a real Hitler.
Hey. I don't want to start off telling you I am new and blah blah blah. (you know all the crap new users and spammers post about that). That's not me. I'm just trying to meet real people who actually care about others. You are one of those people. I recently got into coding and all that junk. Nothing crazy, just simple stuff, basics. But I'm looking for advice and guidance on what I should do and how to learn. maybe you could help me with that? Idk.
but either way id appreciate you taking a look at my first post and giving me some feedback, thank you

I am doing a weekly contest for new members, you just submit a post, and if it gets more votes than others I give away 1 sbd, and other people I know, do free resteems for new users, come and check us out, you have nothing to lose, and lots to gain my friend.
Good work!
Super beneficial, thanks for spreading the wealth <3
Follow me, I will vote your post every time, I’m a votter 😁
good post steemit frineds
Real nice
nice post for streemit

Minnow Support Project is best on steemit...Congratulation @aggroed
Another lovely piece I see! @aggroed thanks for shareing !!!
Always seeing great works from you thank you
It is great to support a help team in this platform.nice work there @aggroed
Delegation is still something I don’t understand.
Thanks for the links allowing me to quicly click and delegate. I had to cancel when I got to the “do you confirm this operation” as I thought “I really don’t know what I am doing”.
I read it is good so thanks very much.
For the time being I will just carry on with manual flagging of stolen material.
Delegation:
Steem power is like owning a stock. The stock has a dividend. In traditional finance you earn 100% of the dividend. Here you can choose how that dividend is spent. You can let someone else borrow it, which is delegation and you can upvote stuff which basically says "this person gets my dividend for today."
I had someone loan me, or delegate me 50 sp, as the 20 I had was not enough to use the site in the day time, the bandwidth was always in the -% , is there anyone working on a fix to this, as I did even put some money in here on day 1 and day 2 to buy sp, though 20 still is not stable, keep up the great work.
Good job
Thanks for all the hard work and dedication. Very generous of you to deligate that much steem power. Very helpful to us minnows.)
thanxs for sharing i was compeletly unaware and now i am geeting some idea about it thanxs alot!
Well done @aggroed, I love learning from the way you improve this platform. You are positive, transparent and a good communicator. Thanks for all you do.
We do love a man who leads by example. Nicely done aggroed!
Thanks for sharing, amazing post, upvote my account @faisalhamid31 pleasee
Hi @aggroed, why the great reward pool thieves aren't punished on Steemit?
Right now a great thief is in trending on Steemit.
You and Cheetah are doing a great job :)
My full support is for you.
As i'm new, i can't delegate you something this time but will do it in the future for sure :)
keep up the good work.
Pfft, hahaaha! 50 sp in my account!! At this rate I should have 50 SP in my account somewhere around the time that I can buy 50 SP for my account at the same price as a small cup of trcukstop coffee. Lord knows I'm not not going to get there with my weekly Steem crumbs, lol.
But good job, nonetheless. Good looking out :)
It took me a year. It's taking people months, but you get there.
Well, I'm a commenter, not so much of a poster. And that just doen't pay as well. I just wish there was a way to do reasonably well posting comments. Though steem isn't my main focus, it is nice watching those fractions of a penny add up😏
There you go my friend, 1 vote from me, that is the best I can do, I am only little also, chin up, and march forward, you will get there in the end.
And a vote for you! I miss handing out upvotes like halloween candy! Reddit did have it's upsides.
you need to let your vote power build up past 90% if you go to https://steemd.com/@ and after the @ put your name, you will be able to track your vote power, vote little, and pause between votes, before you know it, you will be earning money from voting, just keep it over 90% power, :-)
I do that, but I always say to myslef "just one more vote can't hurt!" lol
.
wonderful post
Hopefully what you do @ gagroed, profitable for small fish (Minnow). We really appreciate what you do, hopefully nothing will disturb your efforts.
this is a good idea, giving everyone equal opportunity equally to develop in steemit
This is such an great informative post thanks for sharing dear.
Wish I could pitch in with some SP but I'm a still a minnow. Soon as I have the resources I want to help police this community. There's such an amazing opportunity for people here who really want to build something, and not just take whatever they can and run. Thanks for helping to build a better stronger community!
hopefully all right, we hope a lot of great people support steemit
thanks for your immense contribution on steemit for every minnows..
Good, I like
With each article I read, I'm learning more and more about steemit from authors such as yourself. Thank you for all the work you do explaining this platform.
Steemcleaners, cheetah, spaminator, et al, should be paid out of the inflation, imo.
All users benefit from their work, we should all, at least, bear the cost of their webhosting.
By setting a floor on how much they can expect in rewards will allow long term planning on what to do next.
Without taking away rewards from authors.
The witnesses can have final say on distribution.
@aggroed Excellent that we have tools to debug problems that may arise in the day to day with the users of steemit.com regards
