RE: Steemcleaners Report for 19 March, 2019

in #steemcleaners6 years ago (edited)

Hey,

Apologies if this is off-topic, but in a recent thread with @delishtreats, they had said they’d left a comment asking on one of your posts how to deal with some accounts who were auto-voting them to siphon rewards, and shortly after the votes from the accounts stopped...

I’m in a similar situation.

There have been a few different accounts doing the same, voting on my comments strictly for the purpose of siphoning rewards. @elviento @fbook and @igram are a few that have been doing so less frequently.

@lolicorn is the main one who’s been the main culprit and getting under my skin. (Same one @delishtreats had issue with. Evidence apparent if you look at the one vote on this comment.)

Is there any way to make it so their accounts cannot place any upvotes on any of my content? Or any other ways to deal with this?

As far as I’m concerned, this is the parasitic behavior of a leech, Although am uncertain if what they’re doing constitutes “abuse” in any form that there are pest-control measures against here. Would appreciate if you could clarify.

Again, apologies if this is off-topic, although given @delishtreat’s success with contacting you this way, I figured it’d be worth a try.

Thank you for your continued service to this community. 🙏

Hey @rok-sivante

Unfortunately there is no way to block people from voting you, if there were this would also mean flags could be blocked as they are the same function.

I'm not sure what would be required for this to be implemented (probably a hard fork, maybe not?) but, i'm guessing it would be a feature that not many people would want to be added as it would basically censor the voting.

Sooooo. yeah not anything you can do about it, unless you want to write up a proposal and a way to develop it and see what the overall community think about it. 😁

Was thinking IF there a way to block upvotes only, that could work.

Of course, it couldn’t if it’d affect flags too.

I really don’t know enough about the technicals whether that’d be possible or not. 🤔

Oh it would definitely be possible to do.

Where / how / to whom would you suggest putting in such a proposal?

(I really have no idea.)

Make a post on Steem, get as many witnesses, developers etc as you can to read it. Contact the people who develop Steem. Other than that I have no idea, I've never done one before.

Cool, thanks.

(Would like to upvote you, but seeing the flag bots you seem to have following your trail, I’m cautious about doing so, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire of whatever flag wars may be occurring. So I express my appreciation in words, and thank you for your continued service to this community. 🙏)
